To call Texas A&M “Running Back U” would be somewhat of a stretch, but don’t underestimate the amount of talent and production the program has produced at the position over the last three decades, leading to a noticeable impact in recruiting.
The latest player to enter the conversation? 2024 4-star running back Braylen Russell, who’s currently ranked as the 22nd-running back and 3rd-ranked player in Arkansas, according to 247Sports.
Texas A&M has made the cut in Russell’s Top 5 program list, in competition with Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennesee, and Baylor.
Standing at 6-2 and 230 lbs, Russell is set to embark on his final senior season at Benton High School in Benton, Arkansas, where Russell recorded 60 carries for 514 yards and 9 touchdowns during his 2022 junior season. A year prior, Russell averaged 102.5 yards from scrimmage while running for 823 yards and 12 touchdowns on 141 attempts, including 382 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns through the air.
🚨NEW🚨 4-star RB Braylen Russell is down to Arkansas, Baylor, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Speed, power, vision, and quickness paired with undeniable strength at the position is why Braylen Russell is receiving so much attention from the SEC, and why his hometown Arkansas Razorbacks are putting out all the stops to land his commitment. The Aggies offered Russell back in January, and while he has yet to visit College Station, I expect an official visit sometime near the summer months.
