Texas A&M lands former Boston Colllege OL Finn Dirstine from the transfer portal

Texas A&M has once again struck gold through the transfer portal once again, this time landing former Boston College OL Finn Dirstine.

BOOM! Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher indicated during his last two media appearances that the program was not finished utilizing the transfer portal, as depth remains an issue on both the offensive line and the defensive backfield.

Well, things got a bit easier in the trenches after news dropped that former Boston College offensive lineman/guard Finn Dirstine will officially transfer to Texas A&M for the 2023 season with one year of eligibility remaining. Standing at a whopping 6-4 and 316 pounds, Dirstine appeared in 14 games for the Eagles after committing to the program as a four-star prospect in the 2018 cycle.

Although the starting lineup on the Aggies O-line is all but set, injuries during the 2022 season plagued the team. They hindered any chance of offensive consistency, so for that reason alone, Dirstine brings a vast amount of experience to a still relatively young interior unit. This addition isn’t a big surprise after Fisher described the offensive line being a predominant “strength” in 2023 during his media availability after speaking at the Brazos County A&M Club this week.

“Up front, our offensive and defensive lines should be the strength of our football team. I really believe that.”

Dirstine will join his former Boston College teammate, Josh DeBerry, who transferred to the program last month. Congratulations, Finn! Gig ‘Em!
