As we roll into SEC Media Day and get closer to the start of the college football season, news starts to pick up again. While most of the national focus is on Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC, conference news, or roster depth chart projections, there are stories of good deeds.
On July 17, Texas A&M defensive lineman Albert Regis was nominated to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Each player is nominated by current and former head coaches and journalists for their leadership exhibited on and off the football field. Below is an excerpt from the website on what this year’s nominee’s causes that led to them being selected.
“This year’s 178 nominees champion causes including mental health awareness, youth mentorship, hunger relief, domestic abuse prevention, and many more. In addition to being actively involved with a charitable organization or service group, each player must also maintain strong academic standing to be considered for a spot on the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team”
Congratulations to Regis for his nomination and for representing Texas A&M and himself in such a positive light.
Congrats to Albert Regis, nominated today for the Allstate AFCA #GoodWorksTeam. đź‘Ť
Established in 1992, the team recognizes college football athletes for unwavering commitment to community service and “good works” off the field.
