Texas A&M beginning to win over voters in latest AP Top 25 Poll through Week 5

In light of their 34-22 win over Arkansas, Texas A&M is beginning to win over the voters in the latest AP Top 25 Poll through Week 5.

Texas A&M (4-1, 2-0 SEC) is beginning to turn heads when it comes to the AP Poll voters, but they’re not ready to place them into the Top 25 just yet. Nonetheless, a big win this past weekend over Arkansas gave them an immense boost when it comes to receiving votes.

The Aggies’ 31 votes received marks a substantial improvement from last week, in which they received just five. Texas A&M’s win over Arkansas made an impression, but a win against Alabama at home in Week 6 would surely catapult them into the Top 25. That fact only underscores the importance of this weekend’s matchup.

Elsewhere in the poll, No. 1 Georgia held onto the top spot but their grasp continued to loosen after surviving Auburn in a 27-20 win. The Bulldogs received a season-low 35 first-place votes out of a possible 62 while extending their top-ranked streak to 16 straight weeks.

The rest of the top seven remained unchanged, with Michigan (No. 2), Texas (No. 3), Ohio State (No. 4), and Penn State (No. 6) all staying put. No. 10 Notre Dame moved back into the top 10 courtesy of a clutch victory over Duke, while No. 23 LSU recorded the biggest drop, falling 10 spots after a 55-49 barnburner loss to Ole Miss.
