Texas A&M Basketball is still hanging on in Joe Lunardi’s newest Bracketology update

After falling to the Vanderbilt Commodores on Tuesday, Texas A&M has dropped two seed lines in Joe Lunardi’s bracketology update.

Texas A&M (15-9 6-5 SEC) took a significant step back on Tuesday night, falling 73-72 to the Vanderbilt Commodores, one of the worst teams in the SEC. Ending their three-game conference win streak, the Aggies will now take on No. 15 Alabama in Tuscaloosa for an 11:00 a.m. tip.

While the road ahead is tough regardless of the loss, dropping midweek games to inferior opponents when every matchup greatly affects the Aggies’ chances of earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament and has continued to confuse the fan base who have collectively accused the team of playing down to their opponents.

Now, concerning the Aggies’ projected odd to make the field of 68, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi still has the program making the tournament, moving down from last week’s 7-seed line to a 9-seed, still facing the now 8-seed Texas Longhorns (of course). While the loss to the Commodores certainly stings, the Aggies’ five Quad 1 victories play a big part in why they are not currently on the bubble.

Texas A&M’s road test vs. No. 15 Alabama will start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17. The game will air on ESPN.
