No. 4 Texas A&M pitching is off to a solid start and Coach Jim Schlossnagle has some confidence in putting out three starting pitchers before a series starts. Too often last season, we would get the starting pitcher for game one, then our favorite “TBD” for the other two games. This was mainly because they had to rotate through so many pitchers in a game that it was tough to tell who would be available the next day.
With new pitching coach Max Wiener at the helm, the team has a plan when they get to the mound and are staying in that strike zone more often than not.
On Thursday, Schlossnagle announced Texas A&M’s three starting pitchers for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Here is that lineup:
- Friday: LHP redshirt sophomore Ryan Prager
- Saturday: LHP sophomore Justin Lamkin
- Sunday: RHP junior Tanner Jones
Prager and Lamkin get the nod again and Jones will get his first start this season.
Texas A&M will begin a three-game home series on Friday at 6 p.m. versus Wagner College of Staten Island, New York.
