Texas A&M WBB ranks No. 5 in the Transfer Portal

Coach Joni Taylor is hitting the transfer portal hard and 247Sports has taken notice

Heading into year two, Coach Joni Taylor is hitting the transfer portal hard to bring in some experienced players to pair with her duo of All-SEC freshmen and a talented 2023 signing class. The Women’s Basketball team had a rough go at it this year, losing multiple players to either the transfer portal or injury, leading to them only winning nine games.

However, once the SEC tournament began, the Aggies got a few things rolling and surprised everyone by making it to the Quarterfinals before ultimately losing to Ole Miss. In those two games, you could see what Coach Taylor is trying to get her teams to accomplish once she finally has her stamp on this program.

A significant part of getting team buy-in is getting the type of players needed to translate that message from the practice to the game. A great way to do that for new coaches is to bring talented athletes with a few skins on the wall. Coach Taylor is not playing any games as she hit the transfer portal hard, bringing in multiple top 30 transfers that put them in the 247Sports top ten women’s transfer class rankings.

Below are the current transfers committed to Texas A&M
