Texans WR Tank Dell ruled out with ankle injury

Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Tank Dell had to be carted off the field in the first quarter.

The Houston Texans won’t have wideout Tank Dell for the rest of Week 13. Dell, who suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter, has been officially ruled out for the game with an ankle injury.

Dell left the game with 3:53 to go in the first quarter after he rolled his ankle on the Dameon Pierce rushing touchdown. He had to be carted off the field. Dell had not registered a catch when he left the game.

Without Dell, the Texans will lean on wideouts Nico Collins, John Metchie III and Noah Brown, who missed the past two games with a knee injury. Houston also don’t have tight end Dalton Schultz in the contest against the Denver Broncos.

Houston led 13-3 at halftime when Dell had officially been ruled out.
