The Texans will not have the services of wide reciever Will Fuller against the Bills on Saturday, according to multiple reports.
NFL Network called Fuller “a very long shot” early Saturday morning and that was followed up by the Houston Chronicle reporting that Fuller “won’t play” and receiver Keke Coutee will be active to play in his spot.
Fuller isn’t DeAndre Hopkins’ skill level for the Texans, but he’s important nonetheless. The NFL’s Next Gen Stats broke that down here, explaining that Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson sees his deep ball completion percent jumps from 34.3 percent to 43.2 percent with Fuller in the lineup:
Deshaun Watson has been significantly more efficient in his career with Will Fuller on the field, especially on deep pass attempts.@deshaunwatson's career deep completion pct jumps from 34.3% to 43.2% based on whether Fuller is ON or OFF the field.#BUFvsHOU | #WeAreTexans pic.twitter.com/txcv7WKuve
