Texans waive RB C.J. Prosise, sign WR Damion Ratley to active roster

The Houston Texans made adjustments to the active roster, waiving RB C.J. Prosise and signing WR Damion Ratley to the active roster.

The Houston Texans continue to find ways to adjust their roster, even as they enter a meaningless Week 17.

The club waived running back C.J. Prosise on Monday and signed receiver Damion Ratley from the practice squad to the active roster.

Prosise played in 10 games for the Texans, carrying 10 times for 19 yards and catching five passes for 18 yards and a touchdown. The former Seattle Seahawks 2016 third-round pick also had eight kickoff returns for 149 yards.

Ratley, a former Yoakum High School and Texas A&M product, was taken by the Cleveland Browns in Round 6 of the 2018 NFL Draft. Ratley spent two seasons with Cleveland before being waived at the end of training camp. The 6-2, 200-pound wideout played for the New York Giants until being waived on Oct. 13.
