Texans vs Titans: Point spread, over/under for Week 15

The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans meet for a big Week 15 matchup, and odds-makers see it as a tight game with offensive fireworks.

The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans kickoff their season series with a Week 15 encounter at Nissan Stadium Sunday at noon CT that is so momentous it has drawn A-team color commentators Jim Nantz and Tony Romo from CBS to call the game.

How do odds-makers see the game going?

According to BetMGM, the Titans are favored -2.5 over the Texans, and those odds are tied with the Cleveland Browns for the fourth-slimmest odds of Week 15. Only the Vikings, Rams, and Steelers have slimmer odds at -1.5 points each.

In terms of over/under, the game is set at 51.5, which represents the highest point total of Week 15. In series history there have been nine games that have gone over 52 points. Weirdly, while the Oct. 1, 2017, game had the highest points for in Texans history in the 57-14 beat down, the Oct. 21, 2007, showdown that saw Tennessee prevail 38-36 is the highest points combined in series history. Houston holds the advantage 6-3 over the Titans when there are 52-plus points combined.

The Texans offense led by Deshaun Watson is one component of why odds-makers see it as the highest scoring game of the week. However, there is no denying the impact backup quarterback Ryan Tannehill has had since taking over for Marcus Mariota. Throw in the Texans defense giving up 23.8 points per game on average, and it could be a track meet.
