Texans vs. Chiefs Week 1 inactives: WR Brandin Cooks is active

Houston Texans receiver Brandin Cooks is active versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season.

The Houston Texans announced their inactives against the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium.

Receiver Keke Coutee, fullback Cullen Gillaspia, cornerback Cornell Armstrong, inside linebacker Dylan Cole, offensive tackle Charlie Heck, and outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard were deemed inactive in Kansas City.

That means receiver Brandin Cooks is active for his first game in a Texans uniform.

There was some anxiety throughout the week’s worth of practices as to Cooks’ availability for Thursday night. Cooks was limited on Monday, did not participate on Tuesday, and was estimated to have been a limited participant on Wednesday when the team traveled to Kansas City.

Cooks was listed on the injury report as questionable, but he made the trip to Kansas City, which is always the first hurdle for any game-time decision to clear.

Cornerback BoPete Keyes, defensive end Demone Harris, offensive lineman Yasir Durant, tight end Ricky Seals-Jones, and defensive end Taco Charlton were declared inactive for the Chiefs.
