What a turn of events for former quarterbacks from the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.
Last week’s action was kicked off by the Washington Football Team’s dramatic win vs. the New York Giants. However, Washington pulled that off without Ryan Fitzpatrick.
After a hip injury on Thursday Night Football, he was ruled out for his team’s trip on Sunday to Orchard Park. The Bills will now face Taylor Heinicke in Week 3.
But ex-Bills QBs saw things continued badly later on in Week 2. Tyrod Taylor was slated to lead his current team, the Houston Texans, to Highmark Stadium in Week 4.
Now he won’t, either.
Taylor and the Texans were hanging tough with one of the AFC’s top teams, the Cleveland Browns. Just before halftime while scrambling, a hamstring injury snuck up on him, according to Texans Wire.
Without Taylor, rookie quarterback David Mills entered the game and Houston still hung tough but lost. The Brown pulled off the 31-21 win in the end and Taylor did not return to the game.
Taylor is expected to be out for four weeks.
The issue is another tough bump in Taylor’s career.
Now 32, after leaving the Bills, stops with the Browns and Los Angeles Chargers were ended abruptly due to injury.
The Texans were almost forced the turn things over to Taylor after the ongoing saga with Deshaun Watson. But to Taylor’s credit, he got the Week 1 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That, combined with the Texans’ good showing before Taylor’s hamstring injury, is really a bummer for the QB and for Bills fans looking to welcome him back to Orchard Park.
