Texans sign WR Chris Moore to active roster among other moves

Houston Texans receiver Chris Moore has been signed to the active roster after his big game against the New England Patriots in Week 5.

Chris Moore has been promoted to the active roster.

The Houston Texans announced Tuesday they have signed the sixth-year receiver to the active roster following his big game against the New England Patriots in Week 5. Although Houston lost 25-22, Moore provided five catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Moore said after the loss he simply did what offensive coordinator Tim Kelly put in the game plan.

“Just won my matchups,” said Moore. “T.K. [Kelly] called some great plays that gave me opportunity to make some great plays. I’m mad I left some stuff on the field.

“I wish I could have done more but Davis Mills, you keep seeing him get better. I was just excited to get out there and make some plays for him.”

The Texans also signed guard Cole Toner, who spent the offseason and training camp with the club, to the practice squad. Houston also cleared a spot on their practice squad by releasing cornerback Shyheim Carter.
