The Houston Texans are trimming the bottom of their roster as they work to finalize their 53-man squad.
According to Aaron Wilson from the Pro Football Network, the Texans have released rookie receiver Connor Wedington. The Texans initially signed the undrafted free agent from Stanford to add to their depth at receiver throughout the offseason workouts and training camp.
Coach Lovie Smith told reporters on Aug. 1 after the first few practices that the coaches were noticing some of the good things Wedington had done.
In Wilson’s report, there are indications that Wedington would make for a good candidate on the Texans’ practice squad.
