Is Shawn Porter back in the mix of possible opponents for Terence Crawford?
Crawford was adverse to facing his friend, who also happens to be one of the best, most-physical welterweights in the world, even though Porter seemed open a possible showdown.
Now Crawford says a meeting with Porter would be a “good fight.”
“That’s a good fight,” he told ESPN. “If that’s a fight that [Porter] wast to pursue, we can talk about it, and so be it. I don’t duc no fighter. I never turned down no fighter, so I won’t stop now.
“My whole thing was Im looking for the titles, and I[m trying to become undisputed. Me and Shawn are good friends.”
Crawford wishes that Porter would’ve reached out while he was still a titleholder. Porter lost his belt to Errol Spence Jr. in September.
“My whole thing was before he lost to Errol Spence, there was no mention of, ‘Let’s have a unification fight’ or no nothing,” he said. “So feel some type of way about that. It don’t matter. We all got to fight each other. I want to fight everybody.”
Bob Arum, Crawford’s promoter, has thrown out Porter’s name as a possible opponent for his star fighter. Others mentioned are Kell Brook, Manny Pacquiao, Keith Thurman and Yordenis Ugas.
