Game 3 of the best-of-three series between Tennessee (42-20, 16-14 SEC) and Southern Miss (46-19, 22-8 Sun Belt) in the NCAA Tournament Hattiesburg Super Regional on Monday is in a weather delay.
The contest was scheduled to start at 6 p.m. EDT.
“As of 3:35 p.m. CDT, we are in an inclement weather delay,” Southern Miss announced. “We will provide updates as they become available to us.”
The series is tied, 1-1, and the winner will advance to the College World Series.
Southern Miss defeated the Vols in the series-opener, 5-3, while Tennessee was victorious, 8-4, in Game 2.
A win on Monday would result in Tennessee’s second appearance in the College World Series under sixth-year head coach Tony Vitello. The Vols advanced to the College World Series in 2021.
Tonight’s start has been delayed due to weather, a new start time is still TBD. Updates will be communicated when they are available. #GBO // #OTH // #BeatUSM
