Tennessee men’s tennis team is ranked No. 1 by the International Tennis Association.
The Vols were ranked No. 4 in the ITA’s spring preseason poll.
Tennessee has defeated then-No. 5 TCU and victories against East Tennessee State.
The Vols won at TCU as junior Angel Diaz defeated Lui Maxted in three sets.
Diaz, who has a perfect 2-0 record in singles dual play in 2022, notched a comeback victory over Maxted, ranked No. 33 nationally.
Maxted won the first set before Diaz rallied back to claim a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 win.
Other Vols with singles wins against TCU include Adam Walton, Johannus Monday and Shunsuke Mitsui.
