Tennessee in top 4 to land 4-star QB Christian Veilleux

Tennessee in top 4 to land 4-star QB Christian Veilleux.

Tennessee is in hot pursuit of its next quarterback prospect, extending offers and gaining ground on some highly-rated signal-callers in the 2021 and 2022 recruiting classes.

The latest to include Tennessee in his narrowed list of schools is pro-style quarterback Christian Veilleux of Potomac, Maryland, who has the Vols in his final four schools.

Tennessee is the only SEC school on the list, joined by Duke, Clemson and Penn State.

Veilleux is a 6-foot-3 1/2-inch, 201-pound quarterback listed as a four-star by the 247Sports composite and the No. 15 pro-style quarterback in his class. Although he has mobility in the pocket, Veilleux can deliver pinpoint passes in short and intermediate routes with an impressive touch. He can work on his strength in college on deep throws and has spent most of his career in the shotgun. But he is a prospect highly coveted by major programs.

Veilleux announced his top four shortly after 2021 dual-threat quarterback Kaidon Salter released his top 11 schools, which included Tennessee. Quarterbacks coach Chris Weinke is Veilleux’s primary recruiter, with offensive coordinator Jim Chaney in support.
