Tennessee football should claim a national championship in 1914.

Tennessee won the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship in 1914, its first conference championship in program history.

Tennessee finished 9-0 (6-0 SIAA) under head coach Z.G. Clevenger in 1914, outscoring its opponents 374-37. The Vols wore black on its jerseys during the 1914 campaign.

The NCAA recognizes Army (9-0) as national champions for the 1914 season. Army does not claim a national championship for 1914.

Texas (8-0) was named national champions by the Billingsley Report. The Longhorns do not claim a national championship for the 1914 season.

The Billingsley Report also recognizes Illinois (7-0) as national champions in 1914. Illinois claims a national championship for the 1914 campaign.
