On Thursday, EA Sports College Football 25 released defensive power rankings in the upcoming game. Tennessee did not make the list.
Last season, the Vols ranked 32nd in total defense, 22nd in scoring defense, fourth in tackles for a loss, 42nd in third down conversion percentage and tied for 1st in defensive touchdowns, according to NCAA statistics.
Going into his fourth season as Tennessee’s defensive coordinator, Tim Banks‘ unit has improved every season. The Vols defense ranked 90th in 2021, 37th in 2022 and 22nd in 2023.
