Tennessee drops one spot in national 2021 recruiting rankings

Tennessee drops one spot in national 2021 recruiting rankings.

While Tennessee’s recruiting momentum for the 2021 cycle has cooled off in recent weeks, the Vols still hold one of the top classes in the country according to 247Sports.

However, there has been a shakeup in the rankings, and UT dropped to No. 3 in the country recently after being jumped by Clemson. The Vols still hold the top spot in the SEC, trailing only Ohio State and Clemson.

Clemson’s average recruiting rating of 94.54 bests Tennessee’s 89.89, and the Tigers have one 5-star commit with 12 4-stars. Tennessee’s lone 5-star is outside linebacker Terrence Williams, with nine 4-stars committed.

The good news for Tennessee is there is still a gap between the Vols and other SEC teams. Florida’s 2021 class ranks second in the league, and sits at No. 7 in the country with an average rating of 89.86.
