Tedy Bruschi campaigns for Patriots to trade for Bengals WR Tee Higgins

Another Tee Higgins trade comment, this time from Tedy Bruschi.

Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins seems to be the subject of every wishlist out there right now.

While the Bengals will probably get calls from other teams about Higgins this offseason and fans online have gone wild photoshopping him in jerseys that don’t have Bengals stripes, Higgins has said he wants to stay in Cincinnati.

But even names like Tedy Bruschi have brought up the idea of teams trading for Higgins.

Bruschi, chatting with Mike Kadlick of CLNS Media, appealed to Bill Belichick himself while campaigning for the New England Patriots to call up the Bengals about a trade.

“They need a receiver for Mac Jones, and I say go get Tee Higgins,” Bruschi said. “Mac’s gonna get back on track with Billy O’Brien, get him a receiver to do that. Tee Higgins, to New England. Make the deal, Bill.”

The Patriots are another good example of a team that could really use improved weapons around a quarterback. Luckily for them, free agency and the incoming draft class appear deep in this regard.

The Bengals don’t have a great reason to move Higgins as he heads into the final year of his rookie deal and they still have other means such as tags to keep him around longer if the two sides can’t reach an extension. At least for now, Belichick won’t be able to do much about Bruschi’s appeals.
