Teddy Bridgewater reflects on 4-year anniversary of his devastating knee injury

Brigewater tore his ACL and suffered a dislocated knee at the same time and apparently freaked out his surgeon.

Teddy Bridgewater suffered a career-threatening knee injury four years ago today when he was at training camp with the Vikings. On this anniversary, Carolina’s new starting quarterback reflected on all that uncertainty and pain on Twitter. Bridgewater says he found peace and purpose.

The injury was described as “horribly grotesque” when it happened. Brigewater tore his ACL and suffered a dislocated knee at the same time and apparently freaked out his surgeon.

After sitting out nearly two seasons and playing as a backup for another two, Bridgewater has finally earned his opportunity to start again with the Panthers. Regardless of your feelings about Cam Newton, if you’re not rooting for Teddy to succeed we don’t know how to help you.
