Teddy Bridgewater just made what many in the sports world would call a “business decision” on this play.
At the end of Sunday’s third quarter, the Denver Broncos were knocking on the red zone of the Philadelphia Eagles down 20-13. On fourth and one, Melvin Gordon took a handoff from Bridgewater and seemed to get past the line of scrimmage to extend the drive. However, before the play was called dead, Gordon lost the football and Darius Slay recovered it for the Eagles.
Slay then when an astonishing 82 yards on the fumble recovery to put the Eagles up by two touchdowns. It’s an impressive play and an incredible turn of events for the Eagles, who were reeling a bit from a Jalen Hurts interception on the previous possession, but the real kicker is Bridgewater’s… lack of effort on Slay’s runback.
Here’s how the play went down in real time.

And here is an isolated clip of Bridgewater’s “attempt” at tackling Slay.

That is… yeah that’s a rough one right there. While some people were in awe of Bridgewater’s lackadaisical effort on the fumble recovery, others were less than pleased!
I don't blame Teddy for making a gigantic business decision, honestly

Nothing but respect for Teddy Bridgewater making a keen business decision on that Slay fumble return. You sign a guy to a one year contract, you get what you pay for.

Definitely not what you want to see from your quarterback in a close game with the chance to negate points on the board!
