WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE SEASON FINALE OF TED LASSO SEASON 2. STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN IT YET.
Ready?
OK.
It’s been quite an arc for Nate (Nick Mohammed) in Season 2, with the assistant coach turning on Ted and ultimately leaking some very personal info about Lasso’s mid-game panic attack to Trent Crimm, The Independent.
And it all leads up to the ultimate heel turn for a character who’s been turning that way all season, with his hair turning a silvery gray and him donning a black suit in the finale: He’s now coaching for West Ham United under Rebecca’s ex-husband Rupert, who now owns the Premiere League team.
Let’s talk about the physical transformation for Nate — our Andrew Joseph wondered: Was Nate supposed to look like current Roma coach Jose Mourinho?
Also Nate completed a metamorphosis into Jose Mourinho in what? Two episodes? pic.twitter.com/KO86YomJBh

Mohammed had an answer: In a super-cool post on Twitter, he said his decent into darkness was modeled in his head on … Jose Mourinho!
Me again! CONTAINS SPOILERS so maybe don't read until you've watched the season finale, but here are a few thoughts on Nate and responses to your tweets! X #TedLasso PS Also, huge shoutout to the magnificent @joekellyjk47 who cowrote this episode with Jason ⚽️ pic.twitter.com/Z1Rvuok422

Nate's story arc this season is probably Jose Mourinho's origin story. #TedLasso
