TE Seth DeValve, WR A.J. Richardson among 4 protected practice squad players in Week 13

They appear on the protected list for the first time this season.

The Arizona Cardinals are preparing to play the Los Angeles Rams this weekend at State Farm Stadium and have made their practice squad protections. They have protected four players from being poached by another team, and two are new to the list.

According to the NFL transaction report on Tuesday, the Cardinals protected the following players:

  • TE Seth DeValve
  • DL Michael Dogbe
  • RB D.J. Foster
  • WR A.J. Richardson

It is the first time either DeValve or Richardson have been on the protected list this season for the Cardinals.

DeValve is a new addition to the team, signing with the practice squad last week. The last two games, Evan Baylis has been signed to the roster from the practice squad. He was cut on Monday. If he is re-signed, it still looks like DeValve will be the player to get elevated and be their third tight end this weekend.

Richardson has been with the team on the practice squad since last season. With Larry Fitzgerald and Trent Sherfield both currently on the COVID list, protecting him gives them another option to elevate if neither player returns to the roster this week.

Dogbe and Foster have been elevated and protected multiple times.
