The Buffalo Bills seem primed to take their place at the top of the AFC East. National pundits are starting to take notice of the team’s ascent.
Touchdown Wire sees the Bills putting together their best won-lost record since 1999. At this early stage in the offseason, TD Wire predicts the Bills going 11-5 in the 2020 season:
This feels like the year the Buffalo Bills take over as AFC East champions. Stefon Diggs is a strong addition to a team that is on the improve. Sean McDermott needs to make sure his players focus and don’t think the Patriots are going to slip.
The quick analysis is interesting, as it’s doubtful that a planner such as McDermott would allow his team to lose their direction. However, it’s not out of the realm of possibilities, with the departure of Tom Brady, that the New England Patriots would need a year to reset their roster moving forward.
Buffalo’s improved roster following a season in which the team was within mere minutes of winning their first playoff game in over two decades bodes well for an uptick in the win total. Still, the team will most likely need to outperform their 2019 effort, as the Bills face a stronger set of opponents this upcoming season.
Nevertheless, it’s a good sign that Buffalo’s rise is going noticed and analysts see the team taking another positive step forward.
