TCU WR Jalen Reagor senses ‘a lot of interest’ from Packers at combine

The Packers expressed interest in TCU speedster Jalen Reagor early on at the NFL Scouting Combine.

One of the best receivers in the 2020 draft class sensed plenty of interest from the Green Bay Packers during the early stages of the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jalen Reagor, TCU’s speedster, said he met with the receiver-needy Packers already in Indianapolis.

“I have talked to the Packers,” Reagor said, via Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports. “I feel like there is a lot of interest. They seem like they like me. We watched some film. They seem pretty interested.”

The Packers should be seriously interested in a player like Reagor. He would help solve a major hole at receiver while also injecting a serious dose of speed into the offense.

Reagor, who weighed in at a solid (and somewhat unexpected) 206 pounds on Monday, will be in the running for the fastest player at the combine. He told Edholm he wants to run the 4.2- to 4.3-second range in the 40-yard dash.

A time that fast might send Reagor shooting up draft boards and out of Green Bay’s range at No. 30 overall in the first round. If he’s still available come the first round of April’s draft, Reagor figures to be a top option for GM Brian Gutekunst, who knows he needs to find more playmakers in the passing game for Aaron Rodgers.

Reagor didn’t produce big college stats but he has a chance to be a special NFL player. At times on tape, he looked like the collegiate version of Tyreek Hill. He has instant acceleration ability and rare separation speed down the field, and he gives off Stefon Diggs vibes with the way he moves within routes and tracks the ball as a vertical receiver.

The Packers will meet with most of the top receivers at some point or another during the combine. That’s how the event works. Teams meeting with a certain player isn’t necessarily news.

However, Reagor’s response to his meeting with the Packers appears noteworthy, especially as Gutekunst and his personnel staff comb through a special group of receivers at the combine. The Packers like the TCU star. And they should.
