Taysom Hill suffers chest injury vs. Cowboys, doubtful to return

Taysom Hill suffered a chest injury against the Cowboys, and the Saints say he is doubtful to return. It’ll take a group effort to replace him:

Taysom Hill exited the New Orleans Saints’ game with the Dallas Cowboys after suffering a chest injury, and the tam announced that he was doubtful to return. They may not need much more from him after Hill helped the Saints build a 41-19 lead over the Cowboys at the start of the fourth quarter.

Still, Hill is an extremely valuable player, and it’s tough to replace him. He helps out at fullback and tight end when he’s not catching passes from the slot and making tackles on special teams. It takes a group effort to cover for him.

It’s very fortunate that he hasn’t dealt with many serious injuries after turning pro. Hill overcame a ton of adversity in college at BYU after suffering from multiple season-ending injuries and has developed into a key playmaker for the Saints, even when he isn’t touching the football himself. We’ll look out for updates on his status.

Update: After the game, Dennis Allen said that Hill was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
