Taylor Swift’s Melbourne Eras Tour Night 1 performance is officially the most-attended of her career

A lot of Swifties out in Melbourne on Friday night for the 14-time Grammy winner.

Taylor Swift has been on the music scene for nearly 20 years with her self-titled debut album coming out in 2006. On Friday night in Melbourne, Australia, the 14-time Grammy winner officially performed her biggest show ever as the Eras Tour took on the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

There were 96,000 fans in attendance, making it the largest crowd Swift or opener Sabrina Carpenter had ever played in front of. Although capacity at the venue is actually closer to 100,000, the unique set up for Swift’s stage makes it impossible to utilize the full stadium seating.

Swift was completely taken aback at the gigantic crowd, telling them, “This is the biggest show that we have done on this tour or any tour I have ever done. That’s the version you get of me tonight, the version that’s completely starstruck by the fact that so many of you wanted to hang out with us on a Friday night in Melbourne.”

With two more nights in Melbourne, expect to see more of the same.
