Tar’Varish Dawson changes transfer destination

One week after committing to Cincinnati, the former Auburn WR has a change of heart.

After announcing his new home just over a week ago, a former Auburn wide receiver has had a change of heart.

Former Auburn wide receiver [autotag]Tar’Varish Dawson[/autotag] announced Monday that he has flipped his transfer destination from the Cincinnati Bearcats to the Colorado Buffaloes.

Dawson says that his relationship with Buffaloes head coach [autotag]Deion Sanders[/autotag] was the deciding factor.

“I mean, my city back home is a reason,” Dawson said to Hayes Fawcett of On3. “Everybody loves Deion and wants to play for him, and we are from the same city. So why not? I got my old high school coach there. Deion coached me once on his 7v7 team. My family loves Deion and they know he will take good care of me.”

Dawson, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound native of Lehigh Acres, Florida has three years of eligibility remaining.

Dawson was originally a four-star recruit with a 0.8959 composite rating according to 247Sports. He was the No. 351 ranked player in the class of 2021 and the No. 54 ranked player in the state of Florida.
