Tampa Bay Buccaneers release funny video of Graham Barton adjusting to the Florida heat

Graham Barton, who spent the last four years playing football in North Carolina for the Blue Devils, is learning about Florida summers quickly.

Tampa Bay’s first-round draft pick spent the past four seasons playing for the Blue Devils up in Durham, North Carolina. Now with the Buccaneers, the second-farthest NFL team to the south, his summer camp experience is going a little different.

The Bucs released a fun minute-long video on Thursday morning of Barton asking his teammates if everybody else felt as tired as he did.

“The palm trees are such an illusion,” the former Blue Devil said, raising his arms to gesture toward the scenery around him. “It’s like, ‘Look how beautiful’, no, it’s hot.”

Barton also got a rookie moment on camera when he told his teammates he’d need to invest in a good sunscreen.

“They have a bunch in the training room,” teammate Luke Haggard said.

“Oh, really?” Barton responded.

Barton also asked for a sponge bath from the training staff later in the video, sighing contentedly as someone cascaded cold water on his neck.

Barton later talked to assistant offensive line coach Brian Piccuci about how he expected fall Florida weather to be exceptional and got another rude awakening.

“Until you go up and have to play in the north,” Piccuci said.
