Tampa Bay Buccaneers add veteran running back LeSean McCoy

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added another veteran, signing running back LeSean McCoy.

The names are oh so familiar. Will they translate to success for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Another star, running back LeSean McCoy, joins newcomers Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski on the Bucs’ roster for 2020.

The Bucs signed the former Philadelphia Eagle, Buffalo Bill and Kansas City Chief to a one-year contract Thursday.

McCoy, 32, rushed for a career-low 465 yards with Kansas City in 2019. He actually was a healthy scratch at the end of the season and in the postseason.

Overall, the former Pitt star has rushed for 11,071 yards and 73 touchdowns.

His best season was 2013 when he led the NFL in rushing with 1,607 yards for the Eagles.

Ronald Jones Jr. is expected to be the Bucs’ feature back, but McCoy should see a healthy amount of work. Jones was the leading rusher last season with 724 yards. The departed Peyton Barber and Jameis Winston were the only other Bucs to crack the century mark rushing.
