Talented Texas OL sets official visit with LSU

Texas and Texas A&M remain the favorites for Blake Ivy, but LSU will hope to change that.

The Tigers are going into the Houston area to try to steal an elite offensive lineman from the in-state Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies.

Four-star League City (Tex.) Clear Springs prospect [autotag]Blake Ivy[/autotag] has set an official visit with LSU the weekend of June 23, according to On3. Ivy ranks as the No. 95 prospect and No. 6 offensive tackle in the class per 247Sports, though On3 has him a bit lower and classifies him as an interior lineman.

Regardless of which position he’s going to play at the next level, it may take some work if LSU is going to land him. The Longhorns and Aggies seem to be the favorites right now, though the Tigers don’t sit much further behind, per On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine.

He’ll visit TAMU this weekend, with Texas set to host him on June 16. LSU will have the advantage of hosting the final visit, and it will need to seize that opportunity to remain in the race for him.
