The first thing players and teams are doing during the early stage of training camp is pretty simple: Get tested for COVID-19. Players and coaches have been doing that… and pretty much no work on the field yet. Still, this allowed wide receiver Stefon Diggs to finally head to his new team facility in Orchard Park for the first time and actually meet his new teammates and coaches in-person and not over a video chat.

Because of no practicing and social distancing, McDermott didn’t exactly get a chance to hangout with Diggs much yet, but the coach still was happy to see the team’s new No. 1 wide receiver in the building and ready to go, even admitting that Diggs is clearly a big piece of the Bills’ plan in 2020.

“I didn’t get to spend much time with him, but it is good to see him. Good to meet him in person and good to meet his teammates in person,” McDermott said. “He’ll be a big part of what we do here.”
