Take a look: 2020 U.S. Women’s Amateur field nearly full

The USGA has revealed its preliminary field list of 126 players for the Women’s Amateur.

The U.S. Golf Association is on new ground in 2020 in many ways. Only four events are left on the championship schedule after the pandemic created major challenges for USGA championship fields, which traditionally are filled through qualifiers across the country.

The U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur are the only amateur championships that will be played this season, with the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open the only other championships to be played period. The fields will look different in all four, considering they will be filled by exemption categories instead of local qualifying.

The USGA has revealed its preliminary field list of 126 players for the Women’s Amateur. Six spots remain for the winner and runner-up of three top women’s amateur events: the North & South Women’s Amateur, the Women’s Western Amateur, and the Ladies National Golf Association Amateur.

Below are the 126 players already in the field, grouped according to exemption category. Many players qualified through multiple categories, and those players are listed only in the first category in which they appeared.
