Tahj Washington of USC is having an amazing offseason just a month and a half before an NFL draft in which Caleb Williams is likely to be the top pick.
At USC, Washington posted 50 receptions for 785 yards and six touchdowns while being a significant contributor on special teams. Washington thrived in 2023, beating his 2022 numbers. He caught 52 passes for 963 yards and six touchdowns as Caleb Williams’ favorite target this past season.
He recently competed at the the 2024 NFL combine and talked about his favorite players at the position growing up, and what it was like playing with Caleb Williams at USC. Washington was a consistent receiver in a USC receiver room which generally underperformed. Brenden Rice and Washington were the two most dependable receivers for the Trojans in a year when Dorian Singer and Mario Williams were busts, and in which the freshmen receivers on the team — notably Jakobi Lane and Makai Lemon — didn’t make any real breakthroughs until the Holiday Bowl against Louisville. That game, of course, featured Miller Moss as the leader of the USC offense. Caleb Williams’ last USC game was the November 18 regular-season finale versus UCLA.
Tahj Washington was a great Trojan. Everyone at USC is pulling for him to get a good pick and a great team fit at the NFL draft.
