Zaire Wade, the son of future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, announced on Instagram that he will transfer from Sierra Canyon High School to the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

Zaire is a three-star prospect and ranked No. 140 in 247Sports’ player rankings in the Class of 2020 but he will be reclassifying to the 2021 class with his postgraduate year.

Zaire played sparingly last season with Sierra Canyon and was upset with his role. Dwyane even went on the record during the NBA on TNT that he would not be attending their final game since Zaire would not be playing in it.

Brewster Academy is a boarding school that has sent several players to the NBA, such as T.J. Warren, Donovan Mitchell, Devonte’ Graham and Jalen Lecque among others.

Like many basketball parents around the …

Like many basketball parents around the world, Dwyane Wade isn’t happy about his child’s playing time. But the former NBA star has a major platform to express his frustration. On Tuesday’s edition of “Inside the NBA” on TNT, the Miami Heat legend said he would not attend Saturday’s state title game between Sierra Canyon and the winner of Thursday’s matchup between Sheldon High School (Sacramento) and Bishop O’Dowd (Oakland) in California’s open division.

Dwyane Wade isn’t happy that his son isn’t getting playing time at Sierra Canyon

Dwyane Wade sounds like every normal basketball dad ever.

We know Dwyane Wade as a three-time NBA champion, a 13-time All-Star and a future Basketball Hall of Famer, but before all of that, he was a dad first.

So it’s easy to understand why Wade seems to be upset that his son, Zaire Wade, isn’t getting any playing time at Sierra Canyon.

Seirra Canyon advanced to the CIF State Title game with a win over Etiwanda on Tuesday night in a thriller. Wade did not play in the game, which Sierra Canyon won on a last-second shot.

When asked about it during the postgame show on NBA on TNT, Wade said he wouldn’t be attending the game because Zaire wasn’t playing.

It also seemed like he might have a problem with head coach Andre Chevalier.

“I will not be there. My son ain’t playing and I don’t want to do nothing to the coach. So, I won’t be there…I won’t be there, but I’ll be rooting for the kids.”

Clearly, Wade has an issue with his son not getting playing time.

He probably did a bit too much there by calling out Chevalier on national television, but hey, he’s a dad! That’s what dads do. I mean, he could’ve done worse, right? He could’ve just gone to the game and berated the coach publicly like one of those wild AAU dads.

Shoutout to Dwyane Wade removing himself from that situation and not publicly embarrassing himself or his son. I’d be willing to bet that Zaire Wade probably won’t be at Sierra Canyon next season, though.

Bronny throws down amazing alley-oop as Sierra Canyon honors Kobe, Gigi

With LeBron James in attendance, Bronny Jr. and Zaire Wade honored the memory of Kobe and Gigi Bryant in the season’s final home game.

The Los Angeles Lakers are still in the process of grieving the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and seven others in a helicopter crash on Sunday, with Tuesday’s scheduled game against the L.A. Clippers being postponed for a later date. But the cancellation gave LeBron James a special opportunity to watch his son Bronny and his Sierra Canyon teammates play their final regular season home game of the season, where they honored the memory of Kobe and Gigi.

Bronny wore a pair of Kobe’s last night with messages written on them to both Kobe and “Lil’ Sis” Gigi. And with his father watching courtside, Bronny threw down the best dunk of his young career.

Members of Sierra Canyon and Campbell Hall both took special 24-second and 8-second violations to honor Kobe’s memory. Also, the entire Sierra Canyon squad wore Kobe for the in-game tributes to him prior to moving to their regular uniforms for the rest of the game.

Bronny James and Zaire Wade bring the …

Bronny James and Zaire Wade bring the curious onlookers, but they are not major factors on the team. Wade is a senior who didn’t play much in either game. Bronny is just a freshman, so it’s unfair to critique his game too much at this point. Still, he took only two shots in limited playing time on Friday, hitting a 3-pointer with under 20 seconds remaining in a 15-point win. On Saturday, he scored five points in 18 minutes. (To his credit, he has had moments this year, including the game-winning shot against his dad’s alma mater.) “He’s growing slowly,” Chevalier says. “We want him to do more so he can get himself ready. He’s basically a sophomore now because it’s the second half of his freshman year. He just has to play defense at a higher level, understand the plays and then continue to grow slowly.”

LeBron James takes advantage of being home to see son Bronny play

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have one game away from home between now and January 7.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a kick to the groin and a loss in their Christmas Day game against the Los Angeles Clippers, but it looks like LeBron is recovering nicely with a day of treatment and the opportunity to see his son Bronny play with his Sierra Canyon Trail Blazers.

LeBron was in attendance to see Bronny and the son of Dwyane Wade, Zaire Wade, play for the Trail Blazers against Ribet Academy. Wade was dealing with an injury earlier in the year but appears to be back, connecting on a couple of baskets for Bronny.

Bronny only had four points on the night but the connection with Wade led to some of them. Bronny continues to play his role on a stacked Sierra Canyon team that is now 12-0 as they continue tournament play in the “Classic at Damien.”

LeBron likely won’t be in attendance for Bronny’s next game in the tournament as the Lakers will likely be travelling to Portland on Friday night before their game Saturday against Damian Lillard’s Trail Blazers.
