WATCH: Is stashed Boston Celtics point guard prospect Yam Madar ready for the NBA?

The Beit Dagan native made a statement against Atlanta, but can he keep this level of play up in the NBA?

After generating 8 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists against the Atlanta Hawks in Las Vegas Summer League — a stat line that didn’t do justice to his active hands and high motor — stashed Boston Celtics point guard Yam Madar made his first statement toward making the Celtics’ regular-season roster.

But was it enough to guarantee him a spot with Boston in 2020-21 or do we need to see more from the Israeli floor general to seal the deal? The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “The Garden Report” have “The A-List” host A. Sherrod Blakely on to talk about Madar’s NBA readiness after his summer league debut.

After helping the summer Celtics dig out of a 10-point hole to start their stay in Sin City, it’s tempting to jump to conclusions about the Beit Dagan native.

But watch the video embedded above to get a range of views on where Yam Madar is at in terms of making his NBA debut — and becoming a contributor for Boston in this coming season.

WATCH: Yam Madar highlights vs. Hawks in Las Vegas Summer League – 8 points, 2 boards, 2 assists

A solid debut from the Israeli floor general.

In a moment many a Boston Celtics fan had been waiting to arrive for some time, stashed 2020 draft point guard prospect Yam Madar made his debut with the Celtics summer league squad in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday, and he helped shake his team awake with his high-energy play.

Hoping to make the leap from his Israeli Premier Basketball League team Hapoel Tel Aviv to the NBA, Madar made a solid case by putting up 8 points, 2 rebounds and as many assists in 17 minutes of play. He may have work to do to persuade the Celtics brass to pull the trigger on a buyout with his overseas team, but he certainly validated a lot of fan buzz around his high-motor game Sunday.

To see the highlights for yourself, watch the clip embedded below put together by fan videographer Tomasz Kordylewski.

Austin Ainge: Yam Madar ‘had a great year;’ Celtics ‘love the progress’

The Celtics director of player personnel confirmed the Israeli floor general will play with the Celtics in Las Vegas Summer League.

Austin Ainge, director of player personnel for the Boston Celtics, met with the media Wednesday morning ahead of the 2021 NBA draft to be held the following day, and discussed a number of issues related to the Celtics’ team-building efforts this offseason.

The draft of course was a central focus along with several other issues, but among the issues discussed, there was a fair amount of interest in how stashed 2020 draft prospect Yam Madar fit into the team’s plans this summer for Las Vegas Summer League and beyond to the regular season to come. Ainge, himself not part of the considerable shake-up that saw his father Danny step down as team president, had plenty to say about the Israeli floor general.

“Yam’s doing great,” related Ainge regarding questions about the Beit Dagan native, currently working out on the West Coast with Semi Ojeleye’s trainer.

The highly anticipated stashed guard has been going hard out on the West Coast.

Stashed 2020 Boston Celtics guard prospect Yam Madar has been working out in Los Angeles, California ahead of the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League to take place next month in the neighboring state of Nevada with fellow Celtics alumnus Semi Ojeleye’s strength trainer.

And if you thought for a second the man who helped make the Ojeleye Factory who he is today would be taking it easy with the Israeli floor general, you have another thing coming to you. Madar recently uploaded a sample of what he has been up to out in la-la land, and from the looks of things it is an absolutely grueling routine.

The Beit Dagan native shows off some fancy footwork mixed with a wide array of approaches to tax and develop his frame for what we can only assume is a significant payoff down the road.

Watch the video for yourself for a window into Madar’s pre-summer league preparations; from the looks of things, the focus of the Yamaniacs is already off to a running start — literally.

Yam Madar reportedly working out with Semi Ojeleye’s strength trainer ahead of Las Vegas Summer League

The Israeli point guard could use to put on some muscle, and this is a solid way to start.

Stashed Boston Celtics 2020 draft prospect Yam Madar came into the 2020-21 season with Hapoel Tel Aviv — his team in the Israeli Premier League — with questions about his shooting abounding, only to put those to bed comfortably with a season of 40.9% shooting from beyond the arc.

Now, as he hopes to play well enough in Las Vegas Summer League to convince the Celtics to buy out his contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv, the Beit Dagan native is working on another issue of concern for his success at the next level — putting some muscle onto his particularly lean frame.

Astute fans of the Celtics may recognize the name of the strength trainer brought on to help Madar get a little thicker in good ways with Semi Ojeleye’s strength trainer Paul Fabritz linking up with Madar this week in Los Angeles through his trainer Yogev Perdugo according to Forbes Sports’ Chris Grenham.

While we probably shouldn’t expect the Israeli floor general to look as buff as the Ojeleye factory on his Sin City debut in a few weeks, it certainly can’t hurt to have Madar working with one of the NBA’s most jacked forwards to pick up a little heft in the muscle department.

Report: Yam Madar granted permission by Hapoel Tel Aviv to participate in Las Vegas Summer League

The Israeli floor general has reportedly secured official permission to play in Las Vegas Summer League.

Stashed Boston Celtics draft prospect Yam Madar has received official permission from his current team in the Israeli Premier Basketball League to participate in the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League with the Boston Celtics according to Sports Rabbi’s Moshe Halickman.

Madar’s club Hapoel Tel Aviv recently won an arbitration case over whether they still had a contract with the rising Premier League star, with Madar being deemed under Hapoel Tel Aviv’s control next season barring a buyout from the Celtic or any other teams interested in securing his services. The Beit Dagan native may well prove worth the investment however after a stellar performance in 2020-21 that saw him become the youngest player in Premier League history to win their Most Improved Player Award.

The Israeli point guard contacted the team’s management to formally ask for permission according to a statement from Hapoel Tel Aviv relayed by Halickman, who have granted him their blessing to participate.

WATCH: Stashed Celtics guard Yam Madar Hapoel Tel Aviv 2020-21 highlights

The 2020 draft prospect will be suiting up to play in Las Vegas Summer League with Boston next month.

While the hubbub surrounding the arrival of Boston Celtics stashed 2020 draft prospect Yam Madar to prepare for the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League with the Celtics, fan interest has not subsided in seeing what the star of Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League can do with potential future Celtics teammates one bit.

Playing to convince Boston a buyout this season is in their best interest, the Beit Dagan native is currently honing his craft ahead of the annual (save for last year due to the pandemic) event in Nevada. To keep the Yamaniacs happy, we dug up this new highlight reel of footage of Madar getting busy overseas, put together by the Director of the Basketball Premier League YouTube account.

Watch the video embedded below to get over 10 minutes of Madar footage playing overseas while we wait for him to get on the court with the Celtics in Sin City next month.

While most of the audio may be in Hebrew, we know that the bulk of you are here to watch Madar more than to hear the play-by-play anyway.

Yam Madar: ‘I’m coming to work and coming to earn my place’

The Israeli prospect is ready to join the Boston Celtics next season.

While the Celtics have added a new President of Basketball Ops in Brad Stevens and a new head coach in Ime Udoka, the changes within the organization has already began early in the offseason.

As for the roster, former All-Star Kemba Walker has moved on while Al Horford is reunited with the Celtics. But, that’s just the beginning as the Celtics are expected to have a new guard in their back court come 2021.

The time has come for Yam Madar to join the Boston Celtics.

Madar, who was drafted in the second round with the No. 47 pick by the Celtics in the 2020 NBA draft, is set to join the team for the 2021-22 season as well as playing this summer in Las Vegas for the Celtics Summer League team.

In a recent interview with Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, Madar expressed his excitement to join the Celtics.

Celtics Lab 56: Will Yam Madar be a Celtic next season, and can the U.S. count on Gold?

In this episode of Celtics Lab, things take a decidedly international turn.

The NBA’s offseason tends to shift the focus of its fans to a more international context as favorite players spend time abroad and potential overseas players come into focus for the season to come. But in an Olympics year in particular, we can find the league’s media attention focused outside the ambit of the NBA even more than usual.

And for fans of the Boston Celtics, a much-anticipated guard previously stashed abroad coming stateside in one Yam Madar makes for a most cosmopolitan basketball summer. To that end, we brought on Sports Rabbi’s Moshe Halickman to get us up to speed on Madar’s potential in the NBA, and some context about what he’s accomplished so far.

Halickman has covered the Beit Dagan native including breaking his contract arbitration news, and has plenty to say that won’t be slowing down the Yamaniacs and their hype train any time soon.

WATCH: Stashed Celtics guard Yam Madar training at NBPA headquarters in Manhattan

Check out this clip of Yam Madar training in New York City.

It has been a long wait for Boston Celtics fans intent on seeing what 2020 draft stashed guard prospect Yam Madar can do with the Celtics, but he will have his chance in Las Vegas Summer League.

And while if they do, Boston will now have to buy out the Beit Dagan native from his current team in the Israeli Premier Basketball League (Hapoel Tel Aviv) after losing an arbitration case for his free agency, it’d be a good investment if he plays anything like he has been of late. Now in the U.S. training at the National Basketball Players’ Association headquarters in Manhattan, the former No. 47 pick will travel to Boston to meet team president Brad Stevens and head coach Ime Udoka before heading to L.A. for more pre-summer league training.

To get an eye on where Madar is at with his training, check out this video put together by his trainer Yogev Berdugo.
