Nintendo released a new trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 story expansion and announced a release date that’s sooner than we thought
Nintendo released a new trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 story expansion and announced a release date that’s sooner than we thought. While most fans expected the RPG‘s DLC to release in summer 2023 or later, it’s set to launch on April 25, 2023, for Nintendo Switch.
The final piece of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC, officially called Future Redeemed, acts as a prequel to the main game, and the trailer includes a few spoilers for what happens in the back half of Xenoblade 3 as well. You might want to hold off watching it if you haven’t finished the base game yet.
Future Redeemed introduces a new cast of characters and sees some familiar faces return with a rugged new style. Shulk and Rex, protagonists of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, respectively, make an appearance, along with Alvis, who plays a pivotal role in the first game.
New to the scene are Matthew, a descendent of Noah and Mio; Nikol, a warrior from Keves who looks very much like a young Shulk; and Glimmer, an Agnian fighter sporting a rather Pyra-like hairdo and attitude.
There’s also A, Matthew’s partner who has connections to Moebius.
Each character brings their own class and skills to Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s battle system and can take advantage of a new mechanic called Unity Attack, where two characters can attack simultaneously.
Future Redeemed is part of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass and can’t be purchased separately. The other three waves of expansion pass content include new heroes and an arena battle mode.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s story is full of small intricacies that are easily missed. We’ll explain everything that happens and why.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 promised to bring together the worlds from the previous two games (sorry Xenoblade X), but fans may not have realised just how literal of a statement that was. As always the game is filled with incredible twists and turns, naturally coming to quite the grand climax that is as mindblowing as it is heartbreaking.
As great as the complex and layered story is, if you miss even a single detail, it can lead to many crucial moments going right over your head. If you were confused about any part of Xenoblade 3’s ending then never fear as we’re here to explain every intricate detail.
You’ll be hunting the world for Nopon who wield the Ultimate Hammer in this Xenoblade Chronicles 3 quest, here’s everywhere you need to go.
In Chapter 7 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you’ll be tasked with doing a lap of the world to gather Origin Metal. Once you’ve done this, the Nopon engineer, Samon, will offer up a new side quest. He reveals that the many odd shards you’ve likely stumbled upon during your adventure are actually Origin Shards, which can be used for a special purpose.
However, before he can get to work, you need to complete the quest “Unite the Seven Nopon”, as they all wield the Ultimate Hammer, but are scattered across Aionios. Just in case the Nopon Register quest didn’t scratch your Nopon-hunting itch, in this guide we’ll show you where all of the Seven Nopon are, not counting Samon, who gives you the quest.
Nopon Register is a game-spanning quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and here’s all 19 locations you need to visit.
Near the very start of your journey through Aionios in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you’ll meet a Nopon merchant named Shillshill who will give you the quest “Nopon Register”. You’ll need to take a register of all the Nopon merchants across the world, by gathering different coloured stones from each one, for 19 in total.
Players at the start of the game might be shocked that the recommended level for this quest is Level 55, but this is because the game intends for you to slowly complete this quest throughout the entire game. At various rest spots throughout the world, you’ll find Nopon merchants. Next to the Nopon you can trade with will be an assistant who you can talk to and get your stone.
Xenoblade 3 requires you to rank up as many classes as possible to unlock new side missions, so we’ll tell you how to do that very quickly.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s combat revolves around its classes, and how they interact. We’ve already covered what classes are best for each character, but just assigning a class won’t produce optimal results. The game encourages you to master as many classes as possible, as it unlocks new Combo Arts and Skills that you can use no matter what class you’re currently playing.
This means levelling up classes as quickly as possible is very important. Not only does it expand your possibilities in combat, but every Hero needs you to get their class to Rank 10 to unlock their Ascension quest, which makes each class even more powerful. Whenever you win a battle, along with EXP, you’ll get CP, and that’s what levels up your class. We’ll teach you how to maximize your CP earned from each battle so that your party can become the masters of everything.
If you need help getting your hands on every class, check out our Xenoblade 3 Heroes guide to see how to unlock them all.
Ascension quests unlock the true power of your Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Heroes, allowing you to create a more powerful party than ever.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Heroes are a huge part of the game’s combat system. Not only do they act as a seventh party member with unique abilities in Chain Attacks, but they also unlock new classes for the main six party members to try out. The combinations and possibilities are nearly endless, and we’ve already put together a Xenoblade 3 class guide if you’re stuck for what to do.
Every class can rank up as the party uses it, unlocking Combo Arts so you can mix and match your classes. By default, they max out at Rank 10, but if you complete each Hero’s Ascension quest, it’ll push that barrier of their respective class up to Rank 20.
Once you’ve started these quests, they’re all easy to follow, but unlocking them is often trickier than it seems, so we’re going to go through every class in the game and explain how to unlock their Ascension quests.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Heroes let you unlock new classes and mix up your play-style. We’ll tell you how to unock every single one.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 brings together the best of both worlds, with the game sharing similar mechanics to both its predecessors (sorry Xenoblade X). Although there are no Blades in this game, you still have your choice of a unique cast of characters to mix up your party. Alongside your main six party members, you’ll be able to recruit Heroes from all over the game’s world, all with their own classes to mix up your party.
When you use these Heroes, you’ll be able to unlock their classes for your main party, so if you want as diverse a set-up as possible, you’ll want to find them all. Not to mention, all of them are great characters with their own stories, so getting as many as possible will significantly enrich the narrative.
You’ll unlock several throughout the story, but to find the rest you’ll need to explore the world to find them and their quests, so we’ve collected this list so you can easily find them all and learn a bit about how to use each of these Xenoblade 3 Heroes in battle.
With so many classes to choose from, it can be hard to know what works best for each character. We’ll give you an incredibly powerful setup.
While you don’t have Blades to customise your weaponry in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you’ll go through the game unlocking lots of different classes, and you have complete freedom over how you assign these to your party. What’s more, as you master classes you get greater options for Combo Arts, making you more powerful than ever.
The game encourages you to switch things up often and have your characters master as many classes as possible, but it’s always a good idea to have a solid setup in mind for when a tough job needs doing. We’re going to go through all six main party members and pick out a class that makes the best use of their stats and abilities, so you can create an optimal party for when you’re struggling with a fight.
Cyberpunk, playing as an animal protagonist, and faithful sports sims are the main themes this month.
The summer months are always busy when it comes to new game announcements but not so much if we look at actual releases. In the last few weeks, we had the Summer Game Fest 2022, an Xbox & Bethesda Games showcase, and a Nintendo Direct Mini, all packed with games to look forward to until the end of this year. All of these are months away though, while in this list, we’ll focus on what’s coming this month. And there are still quite a few titles to be excited about.
Sports fans are getting the latest official F1 game and Matchpoint Tennis Championships is finally releasing to all platforms. There’s plenty of brand-new games coming, a few existing series are getting their next chapter and a cyberpunk stray cat adventure seems poised to steal the show.
All in all, cyberpunk, playing as an animal protagonist, and faithful sports sims are the themes of the month. Here are the best video games releasing in July 2022.
