Stock up, stock down from Colts’ 45-30 win over Jets

Stock report from the Colts’ 45-30 win over the Jets in Week 9.

The Indianapolis Colts (4-5) were able to defeat the New York Jets (2-6) on Thursday night, 45-30, in their highest-scoring game of the season in Week 9.

The offense had several players improve their stock in the outing as almost everyone had a nearly flawless game on that side of the ball. The defense was up and down. There were some good performances and some discouraging outings against a Jets offense led by Mike White and Josh Johnson.

Here’s the stock report from the Colts’ win over the Jets in Week 9:

Studs and duds from Colts’ overtime loss to Titans

Studs and duds from the Colts’ 34-31 loss to the Titans.

The Indianapolis Colts (3-5) squandered their chances to grab a season-changing win but instead choked their way to a 34-31 loss in overtime against the Tennessee Titans (6-2) on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts started out the game dominating on both sides of the ball and had a 14-point lead early on in the first quarter. They wound up squandering that lead by the time the first half ended and then threw the game away at the end of regulation and in overtime.

The Colts are now three games back of the Titans in the division and have seen their chances at the playoffs dwindle.

Colts vs. 49ers: Updated injury reports in Week 7

Updated injury report for the Colts and 49ers in Week 7.

The Indianapolis Colts (2-4) and San Francisco 49ers (2-3) released their updated injury reports on Thursday for the Week 7 matchup at Levi’s Stadium.

The Colts got some bad news Thursday as safety Julian Blackmon will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn Achilles he suffered in practice on Wednesday. It’s why he popped up on the initial injury report. He’s still on the injury report but expect the team to move him to the injured reserve list soon.

Here’s a look at the updated injury report for the Colts in Week 7:

  • I don’t know what a “non-football illness” is, but I really hope Jordan Wilkins is okay. He hasn’t practiced in three weeks because of it.
  • CB Xavier Rhodes will be one to watch after popping up on the injury report.

Stock up, stock down in Colts’ 31-3 win over Texans

Stock report from the Colts’ 31-3 win over the Texans.

The Indianapolis Colts (2-4) entered this game hungry to show they still have what it takes to dominate bad teams in the NFL. They did just that with a commanding 31-3 win over the Houston Texans (1-5) at Lucas Oil Stadium.

It truly was a dominating performance on all fronts for the Colts. The offense moved the ball at will either with chunk plays through the air or with Jonathan Taylor on the ground in the second half.

After taking a look at the takeaways from the win and the studs and duds from the performance, it’s now time to take stock from the divisional victory.

Studs and duds from Colts’ 31-3 win vs. Texans

Studs and duds from the Colts’ 31-3 win over the Texans.

The Indianapolis Colts (2-4) came into Week 6 of the season very much at a crossroads. Would they rebound from a heartbreaking prime-time collapse with a big division victory at home? Or would they fall further into the void of a lost season?

The Colts responded in a big way with a dominating win over the Houston Texans (1-5).

Indianapolis controlled this game from the beginning to the end, with all three phases contributing to an impressive outing. The Colts got turnovers and capitalized with points off of them, were solid in the red zone and made multiple big plays when they were needed.

It was a momentum swing this franchise needed and hopefully, they can continue to build on that and repeat the success of the 2018 season where they also began 1-4 and still made the playoffs.

Here are the studs and duds from the 31-3 win in Week 6:

Colts injury updates: A pair of DBs in concussion protocol

Here are the latest injury updates for the Colts heading into Week 6.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich provided some updates on injuries when meeting with the media Tuesday following the Week 5 loss against the Baltimore Ravens.

The biggest concern entering Week 6 will be the secondary as a pair of defensive backs were placed into the concussion protocol.

Here are the injury updates for the Colts as they kick off preparation for Week 6:

Stock up, Stock down in Colts’ 27-17 win over Dolphins

Stock report from the Colts’ 27-17 win over the Dolphins.

For the first time during the 2021 season, the Indianapolis Colts (1-3) came out on the winning end of a game, defeating the Miami Dolphins (1-3) on Sunday, 27-17, at Hard Rock Stadium.

Facing a familiar face in Jacoby Brissett, the Colts had an advantage knowing there was a good chance the defense would do its job after three concerning weeks. They were able to bottle up the Dolphins offense with relative ease.

Meanwhile, the Colts offense finally looked like a solid unit after a slow start against a Dolphins defense that is still trying to figure itself out.

As is the case every week, the stock report is fluid. Sometimes a player’s stock is the culmination of a trend while it could also be a new narrative we’re keeping an eye on.

Regardless, here’s the stock report from the Colts’ 27-17 win on Sunday:

The Indianapolis Colts (1-3) got a much-needed first win of the year on the road over the Miami Dolphins (1-3) in a pretty impressive fashion for most of the game. It was a nice rebound for a struggling team fighting to save its season.

The Colts had more than a few solid performances on the day and here we’ll highlight just a few and low-light some others in our studs and duds of this Week 4 victory.

5 Colts to watch vs. Titans in Week 3

Here are five players to watch for the Colts in Week 3.

The Indianapolis Colts (0-2) will be looking to avoid another loss when they travel south to Nashville, taking on the Tennessee Titans (1-1) at Nissan Stadium on Sunday.

The Week 3 divisional bout is a crucial one for both teams. The Colts can finally get in the win column while having an early advantage with tiebreakers while the Titans can take a commanding lead in the division as the first month of the concludes next week.

Here are five players to watch for the Colts in this Week 3 matchup:

Colts’ Xavier Rhodes set to make 2021 debut

Colts CB Xavier Rhodes looking forward to making his debut in Week 3.

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Xavier Rhodes is set to make his 2021 debut on Sunday when the team travels south to Nashville for a Week 3 bout against the Tennessee Titans.

Rhodes missed the first two games of the season due to a calf injury and practiced for the first time on Thursday. He logged a limited and full practice during the final two days of the week, respectively.

Now, he’s set to make his debut for the 2021 season. The veteran feels ready to get back on the field.

“Yeah, I do. I do feel like it. The last few days were pretty good,” Rhodes told the media Friday. “We’re going to look forward and see how it goes when it comes Sunday.”

Rhodes’ absence has been a big part of the struggles for the Colts’ secondary. They’ve allowed opposing offenses to move the ball at will through the air.

In Week 1, Seattle Seahawks wideout Tyler Lockett went off for a receiving line of 4-100-1 while D.K. Metcalf finished the game 4-60-1. In Week 2, things didn’t get any easier as Cooper Kupp had his way with the secondary going 9-163-2 en route to a Los Angeles Rams victory.

Rhodes chalks up the poor production to miscommunication,

“Yeah, like you said, it’s miscommunication. That’s something that we can come in as a unit, work on those mistakes because we know we’re going to see it again as the week goes by,” Rhodes said. “The past two weeks, it’s probably some of those plays we’re going to see again that Tennessee is going to run. They’re probably going to run those plays now, they probably ran them all week. We’ve just go to look at those plays and try and minimize – try and get them to change and do something new, and stop hurting ourselves.”

It will be interesting to see how much Rhodes is able to impact the secondary with his arrival, but it will be one of the bigger storylines of the game on Sunday.
