Two-star running back commits to Wisconsin

Wynn Stang, a two-star running back from Mukwonago, Wisconsin committed to Wisconsin on Friday. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete will be with the Badgers for this upcoming season as a member of the class of 2023.

Operating as an unheralded recruit went without a Division 1 offer and will stay in his home state to join the Badgers. Regardless of his role on the team, Stang will have an opportunity to be a part of a Wisconsin football season for the books.

With head coach Luke Fickell at the helm, the buzz around the team is at a high right now and Stang will be a part of a backfield that includes stars like Braelon Allen and Chez Mellusi in 2023.

Wisconsin football extends a PWO offer to in-state 2023 RB Wynn Stang:

On Friday evening, in-state 2023 running back Wynn Stang announced a preferred walk-on offer from the Wisconsin Badgers on Twitter.

The Mukwonago, Wis., native was named the 2022 Max Preps Wisconsin High School Football Player of the Year following his outstanding senior season for Mukwonago High School. He rushed for over 2,763 yards and 42 touchdowns this past year, averaging 8.4 yards per carry.

Stang is the 15th-ranked player in the class of 2023 in Wisconsin and the 200th-ranked running back in the country by 247Sports. He also holds a PWO offer from Purdue.

It is excellent to see head coach Luke Fickell and the coaching staff making an early effort to keep in-state talent home with this walk-on offer for one of the best players in Wisconsin High School Football last season.
