Things are starting to click for the Ohio State softball team. It won its fourth-straight game Saturday at the ASU Classic when it took down fellow Ohio college Wright State 13-0 in Tempe, Arizona.
The offense poured it on for the Buckeyes, as they knocked out a season-high in hits (16), runs scored (13), and RBIs (12). It was an onslaught that got going early for the scarlet and gray.
The Bucks quickly put two on the board in the top of the 1st inning on an RBI triple by Andi Farrah, followed by an infield RBI single by Niki Carver. Things really got cooking in the 2nd inning though.
OSU got a whopping eight hits and seven runs in the inning to sprint out to a 9-0 lead on RBIs by Farrah, Carver, Meg Otte, Claire Nicholson, Kaitlyn Coffman, and Avery Clark.
It was all just a matter of time then before this one went into the win column.
Ohio State would plate four more runs to give pitcher Skylar Hayward more than enough run support that she really didn’t need. She got her first win of the season on a complete game three-hit, one walk, and six strikeout performance.
