New York Liberty at Las Vegas Aces odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s New York Liberty at Las Vegas Aces odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Liberty (22-4) and Las Vegas Aces (16-8) meet at Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Liberty vs. Aces odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Liberty lead 1-0

The Liberty picked up a 103-68 win over the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena Thursday, covering as 11-point favorites as the Over (164.5) cashed. New York has won 5 in a row since July 10, prior to the Olympics break, while also going 5-0 against the spread (ATS). The Over is 3-1 in the past 4 outings, too.

These teams met June 15 in Vegas, with the Liberty coming away with a 90-82 win as 2.5-point underdogs as the Under (174.5) connected.

For the Aces, they suffered a 93-85 loss at home against the Chicago Sky as 13-point favorites prior to the break as the Over (172.5) cashed. That loss snapped a 4-game win streak, but the Aces are 0-3 ATS in the past 3 outings. The Under has connected in 3 of the past 4 outings, too.

  • Moneyline (ML): Liberty +126 (bet $100 to win $126) | Aces -154 (bet $154 to win $100)
  • Against the spread: Liberty +2.5 (-110) | Aces -2.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 175 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Liberty at Aces picks and predictions

Prediction

Liberty 90, Aces 86

Moneyline

NEW YORK (+126) has the best record in the W, yet it is a rather decisive underdog in Las Vegas (-154).

The Liberty already went to Mandalay Bay once and came away with an 8-point win as slight underdogs, and there is no reason to doubt New York can go out there and do it again. The Liberty picked up right where they left off with a 35-point rout of the Sparks Thursday.

Against the spread

If you’re a little on the conservative side, or feel the Aces -2.5 (-110) are going to win a close game, take LIBERTY +2.5 (-110) with the points. The better value is just taking New York straight up, however.

Over/Under

OVER 175 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Under did cash in the 1st meeting June 15, but Las Vegas is rested and should be able to score plenty of points. New York hit the century mark in its 1st post-break game, and it easily cashed the Over. The Over is 3-1 in the past 4 games.

Phoenix Mercury at Chicago Sky odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Phoenix Mercury at Chicago Sky odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Phoenix Mercury (13-12) visit the Chicago Sky (10-14) Thursday for the 1st WNBA action in almost a month due to its Olympic break. Tip from Wintrust Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Mercury vs. Sky odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting of season

Phoenix snapped a 2-game losing streak with a 96-87 win over the Washington Mystics while covering as a 4.5-point road favorite in its last game on July 16. C Brittney Griner, who was part of Team USA that took home gold, scored a game-high 23 points while the Mercury had 5 players  score in double digits. The team shot 53.8% from the field in the win.

Chicago snapped a 2-game losing streak with a 93-85 win over the Las Vegas Aces to cover as a 13-point road underdog in its last game on July 16. G Chennedy Carter led all scorers with 34 points while F Angel Reese had a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds). The Sky shot 48.6% from the field in the win.

Mercury at Sky odds

Provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:12 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline (ML): Mercury -145 (bet $145 to win $100) | Sky +120 (bet $120 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Mercury -2.5 (-115) | Sky +2.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 165.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Mercury at Sky picks and predictions

Prediction

Mercury 87, Sky 79

Moneyline

PASS.

There is better value on the Phoenix spread.

Against the spread

BET MERCURY -2.5 (-115).

The Mercury had 3 players (Griner, G Kahleah Copper, and 6-time gold winner G Diana Taurasi) on the US Olympic team this summer which will play a large role in the fluidity of the team returning to WNBA play after extended time off. Phoenix has been hot offensively over its recent games while the same is not to be said about Chicago. The Sky’s offense largely revolves around Carter and Reese while the team has scored 78 or fewer points in 4 of its last 5 games.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 165.5 (-110).

While both teams are coming off a near-month break, expect a fast pace in Thursday’s matchup. The Mercury have scored 84 or more points in 5 of their last 6 games and 82 or more in 8 of their last 10 while allowing 83 or more in 7 of their last 8 games. The Sky have allowed 81 or more in 7 of their last 10 including 5 of their last 6.

Team USA vs. WNBA All-Stars odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Team USA vs. WNBA All-Stars odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Team USA and WNBA All-Stars meet Saturday at Footprint Center in Phoenix. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Team USA vs. WNBA All-Stars odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

Team USA gets a big tune-up game ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The 12 Team USA members are G Chelsea Gray, G Kelsey Plum, C A’ja Wilson and G Jackie Young of the Las Vegas Aces, G Sabrina Ionescu and F Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty, Minnesota Lynx F Napheesa Collier, Seattle Storm G Jewell Loyd, Connecticut Sun F Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury trio of G/F Kahleah Copper, C Brittney Griner and G Diana Taurasi, who will get to play on their homecourt.

The WNBA All-Star team features Rookie of the Year contenders G Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and F Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky. They’ll be joined by F/G DeWanna Bonner and F Brionna Jones of the Sun, Clark’s Fever teammates F/C Aliyah Boston and G Kelsey Mitchell, Atlanta Dream G Allisha Gray — who won both the 3-Point Contest and the Skills Challenge Friday night —  Los Angeles Sparks F Dearica Hamby, Liberty C Jonquel Jones, Lynx G Kayla McBride, Dallas Wings G Arike Ogunbowale and Storm F Nneka Ogwumike.

Team USA vs. WNBA All-Stars odds

Provided by FanDuel Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:15 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline (ML): Team USA -250 (bet $250 to win $100) | WNBA All-Stars +205 (bet $100 to win $205)
  • Against the spread: Team USA -6.5 (-105) | WNBA All-Stars +6.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 187.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Team USA vs. WNBA All-Stars picks and predictions

Prediction

Team USA 102, WNBA All-Stars 91

Moneyline

Team USA (-250) will set you back 2½ times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward.

In addition, the U.S. Olympics entry, while superstars in their own right in the WNBA, haven’t played together enough ahead of Paris, so we might see some disjointed play as they attempt to build some chemistry. Expect the play to be a little choppy early on, although they’re the best of the best and we should see Team USA pull away in the end.

PASS on the expensive moneyline.

Against the spread

Lay the points with TEAMS USA -6.5 (-105), although, again, this team is playing its 1st real game together, and you can expect a bit of a slow start against a star-studded Team WNBA side.

In fact, backing the WNBA ALL-STARS +3.5 (-125) with the points on the FIRST-HALF LINE is a recommended play.

Over/Under

OVER 187.5 (-115) is a strong play in this star-studded affair in the desert.

Team USA has the potential to hit triple digits in this Olympic tune-up, and Clark, Reese and company will give them all they can handle before fading away in a high-scoring 2nd half of action.

WNBA 3-Point Contest odds, picks and predictions, plus Skills Challenge odds and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest odds and Skills Challenge lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The 2024 WNBA 3-Point Contest takes place Friday at  Footprint Center in Phoenix along with the WNBA Skills Challenge. Start time is set for 9 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines for the WNBA 3-Point Contest odds and WNB Skills Challenge odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

In the 3-Point Challenge, unfortunately, New York Liberty G Sabrina Ionescu and Indiana Fever G Caitlin Clark are NOT in the field, much to the dismay of fans, but it features some really good outside shooters.

The 5 competitors are Washington Mystics C Stefanie Dolson, Atlanta Dream G Allisha Gray, Liberty C Jonquel Jones, Minnesota Lynx G Kayla McBride and new Connecticut Sun G Marina Mabrey, who was acquired from the Chicago Sky Thursday in a trade.

For the Skills Challenge, the WNBA goes back to the old obstacle course format which focuses on dribbling, passing and shooting on a course as quickly and accurately as possible.

Phoenix Mercury stars G Sophie Cunningham and C Brittney Griner will take part in the competition, with a likely boost from the hometown crowd. The other 3 participants are Indiana G Erica Wheeler, Atlanta’s Gray and Connecticut’s Mabrey.

2024 WNBA 3-Point Contest odds

Provided by FanDuel Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 4:50 p.m. ET.

  • Kayla McBride: +145 (bet $100 to win $145)
  • Jonquel Jones: +360
  • Marina Mabrey: +440
  • Allisha Gray: +460
  • Stefanie Dolson: +750

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

2024 WNBA 3-Point Contest — Expert pick

Since seeing the entry list, I’ve really liked the odds for Washington’s STEFANIE DOLSON (+750). I’m not worried about her being the biggest long shot here. The value here is spectacular.

Dolson ranks 2nd in the league in 3-point percentage at 48.5% (49 of 101), easily the best in this field. McBride, the chalk (+145), ranks 6th in the W, 2nd best out of this group, at 42.7% (76 of 178). The other 3 players, Gray (36.0%: 41 of 114), Mabrey (34.8%: 56 of 161) and Jones (39.6%: 40 of 101) each check in below the 40% success rate on 3’s.

Dolson might not be the household name of some of the more publicized players, but she is a dead-eye from downtown. I’m very surprised she is the long shot.

2024 WNBA Skills Challenge odds

  • Allisha Gray: +250 (bet $100 to win $250)
  • Sophie Cunningham: +280
  • Erica Wheeler: +320
  • Marina Mabrey: +340
  • Brittney Griner: +650

2024 WNBA Skills Challenge — Expert pick

In the Skills Competition, Mabrey could be a little distracted, as she was just traded from Chicago to Connecticut.

It’s a rather wide-open competition, with Wheeler perhaps the best ball handler of the 5-player group. However, while she is magic dribbling the ball, and a solid passer, she is hitting just 23.5% from 3-point land.

Back one of the hometown players to hoist the trophy. We’re not into conspiracy theories or calling a competition rigged, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM (+280) winning in front of the Phoenix crowd. She might be one of the better shooters in this field.

The Fever have won back-to-back games after taking down the Minnesota Lynx 81-74 Sunday as 4.5-point road underdogs. G Kelsey Mitchell scored a game-high 21 points, and F Aliyah Boston and G Caitlin Clark each added 17. Indiana shot 44.3% from the field in the win.

The Wings have dropped 3 games in a row after falling 87-81 against the Los Angeles Sparks Saturday as 4-point home favorites. G Odyssey Sims had a team-high 23 points, 1 of 5 Dallas players to score in double figures. The team shot 43.7% from the field in the loss.

Fever 85, Wings 78

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Fever (-185), who have won 3 of their last 4 games, to take down the Wings, who have lost 6 of their last 7.

Against the spread

BET FEVER -3.5 (-115).

Indiana is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games, including 4-1 ATS in its last 5 as a favorite. Dallas is just 1-9 ATS in its last 10 and 0-5 ATS in its last 5 as an underdog.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 178.5 (-110).

Chicago Sky at Las Vegas Aces odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Chicago Sky at Las Vegas Aces odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Chicago Sky (9-14) and Las Vegas Aces (16-7) meet Tuesday at Michelob ULTRA Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Sky vs. Aces odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Aces lead 1-0

The Sky fell 81-67 Saturday at home against the New York Liberty — Chicago was a 3.5-point underdog and the Under (164) hit. F Angel Reese’s double-double streak ended at 15 games as she finished with 8 points and 16 rebounds. The rookie out of LSU was essentially quadruple-teamed late in the game to keep her from getting the lone bucket needed to continue it. The Sky have lost 3 of 4.

After a bit of a lull, the Aces have won 10 of 11, most recently prevailing 89-77 at the Washington Mystics Sunday. They came up short of covering as 12.5-point favorites and the Under (172.5) cashed. F A’ja Wilson dominated with 28 points and 17 boards Sunday. She is averaging 29.6 PPG and 15.4 RPG over the last 5 games, which is just an insane stretch. However, Las Vegas is just 6-4 ATS in its last 10 games.

Sky at Aces odds

Provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 4:46 p.m. ET.

  • Moneyline (ML): Sky +625 (bet $100 to win $625) | Aces -1000 (bet $1,000 to win $100)
  • Against the spread: Sky +13.5 (-115) | Aces -13.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 173.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Sky at Aces picks and predictions

Prediction

Aces 89, Sky 72

Moneyline

The Sky have dropped from +700 to +625 underdogs by Tuesday afternoon, but the spread has remained the same. Meanwhile, the Aces went from -1100 to -1000. There is no play here because the Sky are rightfully considerable dogs in this one.

Instead, I’m taking ANGEL REESE OVER 13.5 POINTS (+105). Now, she hasn’t hit this number in 3 consecutive games, but she had 18 points against the Aces June 27. She steps up to these challenges.

Against the spread

The fact that the spread has not changed despite the MLs moving a bit tells me this one is right on point. The Aces beat the Sky by 12 in Chicago. Vegas has won by 19+ in their last 3 home games.

LEAN ACES -13.5 (-105).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The Sky are going to need 80 points to cash this Over because Vegas hasn’t touched 90 in 3 straight. The Aces are 4-6 O/U in their last 10, and Chicago is 5-5.

I’m taking the UNDER 173.5 (-110).

Connecticut Sun at New York Liberty odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Connecticut Sun at New York Liberty odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Connecticut Sun (18-5) clash with the New York Liberty (20-4) Tuesday. Tip from Barclays Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Sun vs. Liberty odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Liberty lead 2-0

Connecticut got back in the win column with a dominant 96-69 victory over the Phoenix Mercury Sunday as a 7.5-point home favorite. G Rachel Banham scored a game-high 24 points off the bench while G DiJonai Carrington (12 points, 11 rebounds) added a double-double. The Sun shot 47.4% from the field in the win.

New York has won 3 games in a row after taking down the Chicago Sky 81-67 Saturday and covering as a 3.5-point road favorite. G Sabrina Ionescu had a game-high 28 points, 1 of 4 Liberty players to score in double digits. The team shot 42.3% from the field in the win.

Liberty F Breanna Stewart (rest) is questionable for Tuesday. Stewart is the Liberty’s 2nd-leading scorer this season with 19.3 points per game, just behind Ionescu (19.4).

The Liberty and Sun are the top teams in their respective conferences.

Sun at Liberty odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Sun +150 (bet $100 to win $150) | Liberty -185 (bet $185 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Sun +3.5 (-105) | Liberty -3.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 153.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Sun at Liberty picks and predictions

Prediction

Liberty 85, Sun 79

Moneyline

PASS.

There is minimal value on the WNBA-best Liberty (-185), who are 11-1 at home, to beat the Sun for a 3rd time this season.

Against the spread

LEAN LIBERTY -3.5 (-115).

The Sun have failed to cover the spread in 3 of their last 4 games as underdogs and 3 of their last 5 on the road. While this is the largest spread between these 2 squads this season, the Liberty have covered in each of the 2 previous matchups. New York has covered in 3 games in a row and in 4 of its last 5 as a favorite.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

BET OVER 153.5 (-110).

While both sides excel on defense, they also are 2 dominant offensive teams. As it stands, this total is the lowest by 5.5 points in New York’s last 10 games, with the team hitting the Over in 4 of its last 6 at home. The Sun have scored 74 or more points in 8 of their last 10 games, while the Liberty have scored 76 or more in 9 of their last 10.

Indiana Fever at Minnesota Lynx odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Indiana Fever at Minnesota Lynx odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Indiana Fever (10-14) and Minnesota Lynx (16-7) meet Target Center in Minneapolis. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Fever vs. Lynx odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Fever won 3-1 in 2023

The Fever picked up a 95-86 win against the visiting Phoenix Mercury Friday, cashing as a 2-point favorite as the Over (173.5) connected. The Fever have alternated wins and losses, and covers and non-covers, in each of the past 6 games.

Indiana is 2-4 straight up (SU) and 3-3 against the spread (ATS) in 6 previous games on the road against Western Conference opponents.

Caitlin Clark might not be close to setting the rookie WNBA record for double-doubles like her nemesis Angel Reese, but she now has the longest active streak among rookies with 5 in a row. CC22 is averaging 19.2 points, 12.4 assists and 7.6 rebounds across the 5-game span. She has also recorded 8 steals and 5 blocked shots in the past 3 contests.

The Lynx suffered an embarrassing 91-63 loss at Seattle on Friday, and they didn’t come close to covering as a 6.5-point underdog as the total (154) pushed at most shops. Minnesota is a mediocre 3-4 SU across the past 7 games, while going 1-4 ATS in the previous 5 outings. The Under is on a 5-0–1 run in the past 6 games, and 11-3-1 across the past 15 contests.

Against the Eastern Conference, the Lynx are 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS in 4 home games this season. They’re also 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS in the past 3 tries overall against the East.

Fever at Lynx picks and predictions

Prediction

Lynx 81, Fever 76

Moneyline

MINNESOTA (-184) is a good, but costly, play straight up if you’re a little more on the conservative side, and you’d prefer to just pick a winner without fiddling around with the points. A lot of casual bettors, especially new bettors to the WNBA, might find that to be a better option, albeit one which is slightly more expensive.

Against the spread

The more experienced, and slightly more adventurous, bettors will want to back MINNESOTA -3.5 (-114) at home.

The Lynx are coming off an embarrassing 28-point pounding by the Storm in Seattle, so expect Minnesota to return to its home court, especially in front of a capacity crowd, carrying a bit of a chip on its collective shoulders.

Indiana +3.5 (-106) has managed to win and cover 3 times in the past 5 outings, but it is just 1-2 ATS in the past 3 tries against Western Conference teams on the road.

Over/Under

UNDER 162.5 (-110) might be the best play on the board.

While the total has gone high in the past 2 games, the Under is 4-2 for the Fever in the previous 6 contests, including the past 3 games on the road against Western Conference foes.

For the Lynx, it’s been all about the Under lately. The Under is 5-0-1 in the past 6 games, while going 11-3-1 across the previous 15 outings. Go low, and feel confidently in doing so.
