Wizards at Suns picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 123, Wizards 112

Moneyline

Go ahead and PASS on the moneyline in this game despite the Suns being heavily favored at home. Taking Phoenix straight up isn’t worth doing considering the current odds for the Suns to win.

Against the spread

Even with G Bradley Beal returning in Washington’s last game, SUNS -6.5 (-115) appears to be the ideal choice given how these 2 teams are currently playing. There’s also a chance the Suns will have G Devin Booker available on Tuesday after he sat out the 1st leg of a back-to-back on Monday.

The Wizards are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a loss and they are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games with a winning record. On top of that, Washington is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 meetings with Phoenix.

Over/Under

OVER 228.5 (-110) is an enticing bet in this contest. The Suns have the 2nd-best offensive rating in the NBA and the Wizards have Beal, F Kyle Kuzma, and C Kristaps Porzingis on the court together, so they are capable of scoring enough points to help us hit the Over.

The Suns have hit the Over in 6 straight games following a win and they’ve achieved the Over in 5 straight following an ATS win. Also, the Over is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between the Wizards and the Suns.

Washington Wizards at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

The Washington Wizards (15-14) continue with the third game of their six-game road trip Thursday against the Phoenix Suns (22-5). Tip-off is 9 p.m. ET at Footprint Center. Below, we look at the Wizards vs. Suns odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Wizards are playing the end of a back-to-back set after they lost on the road Wednesday 119-105 to the Sacramento Kings. They are 0-2 on the road trip, have lost three in a row and six of their last seven games.

The Suns have won three of their last four games and have been without G Devin Booker for their last six games. They picked up a road victory Tuesday with a 111-107 in overtime against the Portland Trail Blazers. G Chris Paul had 24 points and 14 assists and C Deandre Ayton added 28 points and 13 boards in his return to the lineup after dealing with a non-COVID illness.

Wizards at Suns odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 106, Wizards 99

Money line

PASS on the money line.

The Wizards have lost six of their last seven games and are 7-10 on the road and 5-6 against teams in the West.

The Suns are one of the best teams in the league and have won four of the six games they have played without Booker and despite having only lost twice in the last 24 games it’s not worth risking five times your potential return on the money line.

Against the spread

The Wizards are 12-16-1 ATS overall this season. They’ve failed to cover the spread in their last seven games and are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games.

The Suns have not been great against the spread this season. Despite the 22-5 win-loss record, they are 14-13 ATS. They are 2-4 ATS in the six games without Booker and have not covered more than a four-point spread since Nov. 21.

Take the WIZARDS +8.5 (-107).

Over/Under

The Wizards have allowed 113 or more points in five straight games, allowing an average of 117.4 per game. Seven of their last 10 games have gone Over the projected total.

However, the Suns are only averaging 105.8 points in Booker’s absence, but their third-rated defensive efficiency is working. Only two of their last eight games have hit the Over.

Take UNDER 213.5 (-107).

Wizards at Suns: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Suns 125, Wizards 110

Money line (ML)

The Suns are the far superior team and have been playing extremely well, although the Wizards did beat them 128-107 at home Jan. 11. Despite the loss to the Clippers, the Suns have won 16 of their last 20 games.

They play well at home. But with the line at -900, while it is almost a sure win, it isn’t the best play because the payout is so small. Go to the spread and the total for better wagers.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

At 33-18 ATS, the Suns have the best ATS record in the league. They have failed to cover the spread in only three wins this season, although those three games have been in their last six wins.

Washington is 26-25 ATS overall and 8-4 ATS when they play on no rest. And while Phoenix is 18-9 ATS at home, Washington is 14-11 ATS on the road.

The Suns, who failed to cover the spread in Thursday’s loss to the Clippers, have not failed to cover the spread in two straight games since Jan. 27.

Take the SUNS -12 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Five of the last six games for the Suns have gone Over the total. The opposite is true for the Wizards, for whom five of the last six have gone Under.

Washington allows the second-most points in the league per game at 118.5 per game. Phoenix will surpass that. Even in a potential blowout, both teams will put up points.

Take OVER 227.5 POINTS (-115).
