Prediction

Wizards 118, Magic 114

Moneyline (ML)

The WIZARDS (+375) have won back-to-back games for just the second time all season, beating quality teams in the Denver Nuggets (128-114) and Boston Celtics (99-94) at home. They’re 4-6 across their last 10 games but a lowly 5-14 on the road. The Magic (-500) beat the Brooklyn Nets 101-89 Monday and are strong at home with a 12-8 season record.

Orlando beat Washington 122-101 last Wednesday in Washington, and the Magic lead the season series 3-0. Still, this is far too much value on a Wizards team coming off of two impressive wins. Place a small-unit wager for a 3.75-1 return on your investment.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Feel much more comfortable backing the WIZARDS (+10.5, -115) to stay within 10 points in a loss or to win outright. Their first two losses against the Magic this season came by margins of 4 and 7 points before last week’s 21-point blowout. The Wiz are 18-17 against the spread overall and 10-8 on the road. The Magic are 16-19 ATS overall and 8-11 at home.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 218.5 (-129). Each of the first three meetings of the season crushed that number with totals of 246, 247 and 223 combined points. The Wizards are 21-14-1 against the Over/Under for the year while the Magic are 16-20-1.

Esten’s NBA betting record: 126-97

Prediction

Magic 109, Wizards 104

Moneyline (ML)

The -295 line for the MAGIC is interesting given the fact that Orlando plays low-scoring basketball and close games.

Can Orlando slow down Washington enough? The answer appears to be “yes” as the Magic are one of a handful of teams that hold opponents to under 100 points a game this season.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Magic to win outright returns a profit of only $3.39.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The slightly better play for this game is taking the WIZARDS +7.5 points at -121 odds. A Washington cover here (lose by seven points or less) returns a greater profit of $8.26.

Washington is 4-1-1 on the road against the spread which is one of the better numbers out there. Orlando is only 1-3 ATS at home and falls 2.5 points per game below the cover line. Washington covers by nearly eight points a contest away from home.

Over/Under (O/U)

Lean more to the UNDER 220.5 (+105). Watch the number here as it will depend on who places how much money on the Over or Under. The O/U was as high as 222.5 Friday night. The expectation is that there may be a little bit more movement before it settles just below 220.
