[lawrence-newsletter]If you live on Wisconsin football Twitter as I do, you may have seen graphics that have tomorrow’s date, June 1, on them.

The graphics have been circling on Twitter pages of Wisconsin recruits and current players, and started with members of the Badger coaching staff/recruiting staff. Based on the information we have seen on Twitter, it appears that tomorrow the Badgers will unveil a brand new Twitter recruiting page, geared towards finding the best talent they can with the power of the internet.

Creating a Twitter hub for Wisconsin recruiting makes a ton of sense, especially given where the industry has gone in the last few years specifically. College coaches constantly have their direct messages flooded with recruits trying to be noticed, and streamlining the process on a Wisconsin recruiting Twitter page could help the Badgers land talent moving forward. Stay tuned tomorrow for the unveiling of the Wisconsin recruiting Twitter page.

In a plan to save UW nearly three million dollars, Wisconsin athletics is having over twenty of the top-paid athletics employees take pay cuts including Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez, football Head Coach Paul Chryst, and basketball head coach Greg Gard.

In a release earlier today, Wisconsin athletics said that work hours for the employees will not change despite the cut. The cut comes as a plan to save the UW much needed money in this uncertain pandemic. Alvarez spoke to the situation and the plan to cut hours in the release.

“Reducing compensation and work hours is obviously not something I want to see for any of our Badger Athletics family,” said Wisconsin’s AD. “But we are facing the same financial challenges that other organizations across the country are. We are working hard to minimize the impact on our employees while responding to the realities of the situation created by the pandemic.

“I greatly appreciate our highest earners’ willingness to consider voluntarily accepting a temporary reduction in pay, as well as the rest of our staff who are sharing in this exercise by reducing their hours to help us navigate our way through these unprecedented times,” said Alvarez.

The specifics of the pay reduction is a 15% decrease for each of the top-25 earners in the department. The pay reduction plan will last through July 25.

Wisconsin extends offer to 2022 TE Jack Nickel

The Badgers offer a top TE in the class of 2022

[lawrence-newsletter][lawrence-auto-related count=2 category=1372]The Wisconsin Badgers are continuing the process of starting to build a 2022 class, and recently made their first offer to a 2022 tight end. UW extended an offer to three-star TE Jack Nickel yesterday per his Twitter account.

The Alpharetta, Ga. (Milton) native has been receiving division one interest since early in his freshman season, and already holds offers from the likes of Colorado, Florida State, and Kentucky. At 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, the sophomore clearly has what it takes physically to be a contributor at the next level, and of course has two more years to grow before playing his college ball.

On tape, Nickel not only shows his ability as a pass-catcher in the open field, but also his prowess as a solid blocker in the run game. Check out sophomore season highlights from the Milton High School standout via Hudl: http://www.hudl.com/v/2Bg0xb
