Will Grant commits to Tennessee.

Will Grant has committed to Tennessee rugby.

“Welcome to Rocky Top,” Tennessee announced Monday. “Will joins the Vols this fall as part of our fast growing freshmen class.”

The 5-foot-10, 205-pound center is from Houston High School in Germantown, Tennessee. Grant also plays for 901 Rugby Club.

Tennessee won its third consecutive SCRC championship in 2022, defeating South Carolina, 27-22, on Nov. 12.

The 2022 campaign was the first for Tennessee under head coach Scott Tungay.

Tennessee won the 2021 national championship under head coach Marty Bradley. Bradley served as the Vols’ rugby head coach from 2011-21. He served as Tennessee’s assistant coach from 1996-2010 under head coach Butch Robertson.

Welcome back from a rainy weekend in Gainesville! The sports scene is pretty bare for the Gator Nation at the moment, but the lull is merely the calm before the autumn storm. The roundup from the past few days focuses mainly on members of the men’s tennis team in action this summer, plus the volleyball team gets warmed up with a scrimmage in front of the fans.
