Former NFL players react to video of Cam Newton brawl

Guys who have played with and against Cam Newton think it’s a bad idea to try to fight Cam Newton.

So, is trying to fight Carolina Panthers legend Cam Newton a good idea? Well, maybe we should see what some of his old teammates and opponents think.

On Sunday, a video of Newton appearing to be attacked by multiple individuals at his 7v7 event in Atlanta went viral. The clip made the rounds to former NFL players, who had the following to tweet about the wild incident:

Former Husker announces retirement from NFL

After nine years in the NFL, a former Cornhusker is calling it a career.

After nine years in the NFL, a former Cornhusker is calling it a career. Linebacker Will Compton announced his retirement on Sept. 3.

Compton played for Nebraska from 2008-2012. In 48 career games as a Husker, he totaled 247 tackles, 13.0 for loss and 5.0 sacks.

The Missouri native signed with Washington as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played for the franchise from 2013-2017.

He made the retirement announcement on social media.

“After 9, arguably 10, years in the NFL – I am officially retiring I truly can’t put into words how grateful I am for this game and the people who have been on this journey with me Thank you all so much”

Compton also spent time with the Titans, Saints, and Raiders. For his NFL career, he totaled 358 tackles, one sack, and three interceptions.

Former Titans LB Will Compton announces retirement

Former Titans LB Will Compton has announced his retirement from the NFL.

After nine seasons in the NFL, former Tennessee Titans linebacker Will Compton has announced his retirement.

The “Bussin’ With The Boys” host revealed his plans on social media on Sunday night, along with a seven-minute video, which you can check out below (warning: NSFW language).

“After 9, arguably 10, years in the NFL — I am officially retiring,” Compton wrote on X. “I truly can’t put into words how grateful I am for this game and the people who have been on this journey with me. Thank you all so much. See you in Canton, OH.”

Compton, who last played a snap in the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021, spent two of his nine seasons with the Titans, appearing in 24 games (three starts).

Compton entered the league as an undrafted free agent with Washington in 2013, where he spent his first five seasons. He also had a cup of coffee with the New Orleans Saints.

Former Titans LT Taylor Lewan: ‘Everybody hated’ Mike Vrabel in his first year

Taylor Lewan says Mike Vrabel wasn’t exactly popular his first year, and Kevin Byard told a story of how Vrabel ripped into Lewan during a film session after the very first practice of OTAs.

It doesn’t take an insider to see that Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is demanding and can be tough on his players on a daily basis.

But on a recent episode of Bussin’ With The Boys, Taylor Lewan, Will Compton and Kevin Byard talked about how Vrabel actually used to be tougher in his first season in 2018.

“He sucked the first year,” Compton said.

“Everybody hated Vrabes the first year, you could say it,” Lewan added. “He was so rough around the edges.”

Byard then recalled how Vrabel would do “lowlights” after each practice and Lewan in particular got destroyed by the head coach after the very first OTAs session because the former Pro Bowl left tackle started to showboat a bit following one play.

“Murdered me,” Lewan said of Vrabel calling him out.

Byard indicated that was one of the first moments where he realized that nobody was safe from criticism under Vrabel, regardless of how much a player makes or what type of previous accomplishments they may have.

Quandre Diggs and Will Comptom embrace Pete Carroll’s style of dad shoes

if you’ve ever worn a pair then know they’re nothing if not comfortable.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll’s famous plain white Nikes might get him ribbed on social media during the season. However, if you’ve ever worn a pair then know they’re nothing if not comfortable.

As for top-two free safety Quandre Diggs and free agent linebacker Will Compton, they have fully embraced the ultimate dad shoe Air Monarchs, as they attested on Twitter yesterday.

Taylor Lewan, Will Compton serving as head coaches in ASU spring game

Former Titans Will Compton and Taylor Lewan will be the head coaches at the Arizona State spring game.

Former Tennessee Titans and “Bussin With The Boys” hosts Taylor Lewan and Will Compton will square off as head coaches in the Arizona State Spring Game on Saturday.

Lewan will be the lead man of the Gold team, while Compton will head the Maroon squad.

This is the last stop on the “Bussin With The Boys” campus tour that has seen the two former Titans make stops at six colleges. The other five were South Carolina, Texas, Ohio State, LSU, and Colorado.

“One of the coolest things that we’ve been able to do since launching Bussin’ on Barstool is interacting directly with our fans, which is why we can’t wait to hit the road to meet with our fans in person,” Compton and Lewan said of the tour. “It’s going to be a blast to visit some of the premier campuses in college football, and do what we do, which is talk football, and life.”

As far as their NFL statuses are concerned, Lewan and Compton remain free agents. Lewan was cut by the Titans earlier this offseason after suffering his second torn ACL in three years in 2022, and Compton didn’t play a snap in the NFL in what would’ve been Year 10.

Titans’ Mike Vrabel trolls Will Compton over ‘Year 10’

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel took time out of his Friday evening to troll Will Compton.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel doesn’t post much to social media, but when he does it’s usually him trolling either Will Compton or Taylor Lewan.

This time around, it was Compton who got it from the Titans head coach.

On Friday, Vrabel posted a picture that originally said “Commanders re-sign Jonathan Williams and David Mayo”, but he whited out the names, leaving only “Will” to make it look like Compton was signed.

He tweeted this, also:

“[Will Compton] congrats,” Vrabel wrote. “After a gap year, the journey to Year 10 continues.”

Compton spoke about taking part in his 10th season in the NFL throughout the 2022 campaign but never actually landed on a team, hence Vrabel’s reference to “a gap year.”

He came close to signing with the Atlanta Falcons, but the NFL blocked the former Titans linebacker from inking a deal because of his “business endeavors off the field,” as Compton revealed in late November.

Falcons recap: Patterson wins NFC award, Will Compton awaits contract

Falcons recap: Cordarrelle Patterson appears on Good Morning Football, Free-agent LB Will Compton awaits contract offer from Atlanta

The Atlanta Falcons took a punch to the gut to begin the week with tight end Kyle Pitts and defensive lineman Ta’Quon Graham landing on the injured reserve list.

Both starters could be in jeopardy of missing the remainder of the 2022 season, which would be a major blow to an Atlanta team still fighting for a playoff spot in the wide-open NFC.

The Falcons did get some good news on Wednesday, however. Running back Cordarrelle Patterson won the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award for his performance against the Bears.

In today’s Falcons recap, the team releases a new depth chart, Patterson makes an appearance on the NFL Network, and free-agent linebacker Will Compton awaits a contract offer following Tuesday’s physical.

Free-agent LB Will Compton says he’s signing with Falcons

Free-agent LB Will Compton posted a video saying he’s signing with the #Falcons on Tuesday

The Atlanta Falcons placed two players on injured reserve Monday, and claimed defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson off waivers. The team still has an open roster spot available, though, and it sounds like free-agent linebacker Will Compton will soon be taking it.

Compton, 33, posted a video on his Twitter account saying he is signing with the Falcons on Tuesday, pending his physical.

The former Titans and Raiders linebacker previously worked out for the Falcons back in early October. Even though the team has pretty good depth at inside linebacker, Compton brings veteran experience as Atlanta tries to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2017.

Over the past nine seasons, Compton has appeared in 92 career games with 40 starts. The Falcons defeated the Chicago Bears in Week 11, and by doing so, got themselves back in the playoff hunt.

Watch: Ex-Titans LB Will Compton once did an epic Mike Vrabel impersonation

Will Compton once impersonated Mike Vrabel in a Titans team meeting and it was as good as you’d expect.

Free-agent linebacker Will Compton and Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel are no strangers to ribbing each other now and then, with Vrabel usually coming out on top.

But Compton may have just taken the lead in their years-long back-and-forth recently when he shared a video of himself from 2018 impersonating the Titans head coach during a team meeting.

Now, I’ve never sat in on a Titans team meeting led by Vrabel, but if I had to imagine how it would go, it wouldn’t be too far off from the way Compton delivered this impersonation.

Thankfully, former Titans linebacker Daren Bates was ready record it (warning: NSFW language).

Earlier this year, Vrabel made a pair of rare appearances on social media and cleaned Compton’s clock twice in the span of a month.

Compton, who co-hosts “Bussin’ With The Boys” with Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan, played in 12 games for the Titans in 2018 and 2020.
